Just watched Oscar Pistorius absolutely trounce the opposition.
I watched that, and looking forward to Wednesday's race
Just watched Oscar Pistorius absolutely trounce the opposition.
The Irish guy was good too.
Apparently (so they said) the Stadium was a sell out this evening - 80 thousand people! I did see some empty seats, but people were coming in and out all the time, or arriving late. The guy next to me arrived over half way through; he missed the Oscar Pistorius sensation.
The "Irish guy", Jason Smyth, is actually British, he's from Londonderry.
Considering he chose to represent Ireland, Irish probably.
What do you think he calls himself then, Irish or British?
But he is Irish as well, but Northern Irish.
Say i wanted to see something paralympic tomorrow (Monday) - is there any chance of getting tickets for anything or is it all sold out or what? And do you still have to pay just to get into the park and will that be all sold out too?
Yes I am too lazy to read multiple paralympic threads and general media to find the answer to this question.
What are Excel passes?
The ExCel's not in Greenwich. It's alongside the Royal Docks.Events at the Excel in Greenwich (NOT the Olympic Stadium)
You need to get onto the ticket website and hope you get lucky.Say i wanted to see something paralympic tomorrow (Monday) - is there any chance of getting tickets for anything or is it all sold out or what? And do you still have to pay just to get into the park and will that be all sold out too?

Thanks Minnie.
The ticket checking thing looks like more effort than I can be bothered to expend though. And I don't want to go to Excel.
The paralympics will just have to get by without my attendance.

Can you just sort it out and PM me once you've got me something? Me + 1. Thanks. will pay you back within a few years up to a max of £10.It's not actually. It's very good. I had it open when I heard a beep and then looked at Twitter and saw the 2012 Ticket Alert had also come up with loads of tweets, so at least it gives you an audio alert if you haven't got Twitter open all the time. It looks confusing but it's very easy.
Right, you want a session at the Olympic Park tomorrow(3rd September), so you need to enter sessions:
PAT07 (athletics morning)
PAT08 (athletics evening)
PFT03 (football 7-a-side morning)
PFT04 (football 7-a-side evening)
PGB13, PGB14, PGB15 (Goalball - morning, afternoon and evening sessions)
PX005 (Olympic Park Day Pass - which will get you into various sessions subject to availability)
PSW09 (Swimming morning)
PSW10 (Swimming evening)
PWT03 (Wheelchair Tennis sessions)
BUT, as you can only pick out 5 sessions for it to check, and a Day Pass lets you into goalball, football and wheelchair tennis, you're better off putting in PX005, and then pick four other sessions that most appeal. If you get a goalball ticket, it guarantees you entrance, same as tennis and football, but if you go for a Day Pass, it's first-come, first served, but if no Day Passes come up, you're better off going for a tennis, or goalball one anyway as it means you still get the chance to attend other sessions.
However, Swimming, Athletics and Velodrome don't allow you admittance to anything other than 1 particular venue, but you can still wander around park
I'd go for in this order:
PX005 (Day Pass)
PAT07 and PAT08 (Athletics)
PSW09 and PSW10 (Swimming)
Obviously you might decide on something completely different

You're obviously not serious about going then and I've just wasted my time looking up all the sessions for you
In fact I have now set it running.
Why don't Richard Whitehead and Oscar Pistorius run in the same category?
