One Rule for the Rich: heir to TetraPak empire gets off possessing 52g of Coke!

There does seem to be a shortage of empathy these days, maybe the internet's partially responsible? Fuck knows. Urban is fairly sensible in comparison with a lot of sites, though. Belboid wouldn't even stand out on, say, the manchester evg news comments bit - That's just awash with foaming gibberers. Though maybe the gibberers have always been quietly a-foaming in the privacy of their own homes and the net's just made them more visible?<snip>
That's the long term effect of living in an elbows out society; fine for a few, not so great for everyone else. FWIW I wouldn't blame a dearth of empathy on the internet - it's always been patchy, but pack behaviour makes it worse and the internet makes it more visible. OTOH the internet also makes the best bits of human nature more visible. If you don't notice them, you probably looked in the wrong places.

Imo .. it'd be quite easy to live in the same house with a dead person when you are on drugs and not know the person was dead
If you were on eg ketamin and also eg valium you might think you were dead yourself for a couple of weeks or travelling around Mars or something
If you lived in a mansion and had seperate bedrooms from your missus which is only natural after years of giving her one then it's very likely when you're told she is dead you might go .. she is ?

Oh jesus christ noooooooooooooooooooo

It's life in la la land tbf

Howsever the reporting of this tragedy makes me puke !

Fucking yuck

I am not a horrible person but I honestly could not summon up even a smidgeon of sympathy. The addiction is almost an irrelevance, except it isnt since there is a massive difference in how addiction is treated for those able to afford private healthcare, compared to us poor sordid scumbags existing on the scraps of NHS and voluntary sector treatments. A waste, of everybodies time and efforts - wondering why I have even bothered to trawl through this thread......

don't know about that, but ye olde interweb has defintely helped reveal how many prissy, e-curtain twitching wankers there are out there deluding themselves that they're somehow part of the solution, when they're quite plainly part of the same old problem.
It's not just the internet but it just puts people in touch with other people who might not had the opportunity before. This can be good or bad (think the increase in child porn).
In terms of nutters, did no one ever read a local paper's comments section or listen to a radio phone in. The demented have always been with us.
