Network TV so your The Wire, Sopranos, Galactica type multi episode story arcs, in depth character development, complex world themes will all be missing. The critiques of the modern world will be hammy and rammed down the throat and not offensive to middle America. Star Trek was over hyped ray guns and rocketships era sci fi wrapped in a psuedo philosophy for your average IT technician to think they were watching something deep at best. A reboot is a decade and a half too late\ out of date.
By the time Deep Space 9 and Enterprise came along Star Trek did long story arcs, actually not much different from Battlestar Galactica. With series like The Good Wife and American Crime Network TV has been getting in on the serialised approach. And why wouldn't they, it's popular now.
