May's Cabinet

all hailing ceaser like dogs then? like fuck am I watching that. Re: it getting worse in terms of journalism. I don't think so. Remember the edited footage of orgreaves. I was one years old when they did that. So they've clearly been at it since before I was born. I think it just wasn't so obvious when we were younger cos you retain a naivete for a while.

Your"re not imagining it. Its barely watchable.

I thought the same watching it last night. She wasn't even voted in by the electorate and the BBC were treating it as if we've suddenly ousted a tyrant through a popular uprising. (unless they were thinking of the EU - of course).

I heard an incredible report about Osborne this morning on R4 - in a news bulletin, not opinion: the newsreader said that despite having rescued the economy, Osborne paid the 'ultimate price' for his dire warnings on the effects of brexit.

Jesus. Even Spanish state media isn't this bad and when a new government in Spain gets in they sack everyone who they think favours the opposition.

He rescued the economy in the same way someone throwing a bag of kittens into a river is rescuing them from a life of squaller.

There's an element of that. But compare Kuennsburg to John Cole, for example, and tell me standards haven't got (even) worse.

I agree with you, I don't think it has gotten worse in its coverage of the working-class and if Hillsborough happened again they'd do the same if they could get away with it but I think this total deference to, or boosting of, the Tories is something new. It's a more blatant bias specifically in the area of party politics. Actually I take back what I said about the coverage feeling like a royal event, it feels like a royal death or a death of a 'well respected' right-wing politician in which analysis is replaced by hagiography in order to defend their legacy at all costs and maintain a narrative. Except that this is just the beginning.
