That's going to be a long ballot paper! I am glad I am not working in a polling station this year - pity the people having to fold those in whatever way is determined the right one. And pity the voters trying to get the folded paper in the ballot box.

so ukip claim DR peter gammons is a best-selling author and motivational speaker. but i can't find any record of a doctoral thesis by a peter gammons - neither the bl's ethos nor proquest's dissertations and theses global database knows of him. nor does the general medical council know of a dr peter gammons. so can anyone shed some light on his doctoral qualifications?

"Gammons studied at Presbyterian Faith Theological Seminary and earned a PhD from Canon University, Florida."

According to this website, which came up when I googled. Who is Dr. Peter Gammons? Meet the UKIP leader running for London mayor!

there are no way two million miles of tunnels under london
There aren't, assuming an average cross section of 6ft (a tunnel big enough to walk through) gives the tunnels a total floor area of 757 square miles somewhat larger than Greater London's 600ish square mile area. Either this 2 million is wrong (2,000 is very believable) or that 2 million miles includes things like cabling ducts a few centimetres square which might be a tad difficult to cycle or walk through.

with a bit of effort we could squeeze dr gammon through such ducts like cheap pate

There could be more than one layer of tunnels.

People having a laugh, I reckon. In London you have to be Ken Livingstone to lose a mayoral election to a tory so the result's a foregone conclusion. Non-labour voters are voting for any old cunt.
Frank Dobson was the official labour candidate who lost a few years back to Ken when Ken had to stand as an independent.

You can put tunnels under tunnels, I think you owe the honourable Dr Gammon an apology for doubting him.

There could be more than one layer of tunnels.
there could indeed but let's assume these tunnels are a 6x6 box section, the smallest they could practically be, (if some are larger then the numbers can only go up), they can't all be one level since London would have a 6ft void underneath it so let's say 10 layers which will give us 75 square miles of tunnel per layer or about 12% the total area of Greater London is these hidden tunnels per layer (and there are plenty of known tunnels in the same volume) which means the rest of each layer is supporting the layers above it and London itself which is fairly heavy.
There has to be fairly substantial supports between each layer which will only get thicker as they go down but for the sake of making the maths easier let's say there is an average 6ft gap between each layer and the first layer is deep enough to be relatively Luftwaffe proof so what 40ft do you?
That means the bottom layer is at the same depth as the Crossrail tunnel and it is MUCH larger in total volume of missing material (ie that was removed to make way for the tunnels) than the Crossrail Tunnel and thus requires more support. The Crossrail Tunnel has taken how many years and billions to build using technology half a century or more ahead of that used to build this vast warren of tunnels which must incorporate God alone knows how many millions of tons of steel and concrete.
Fewer layers mean less digging to depth but far stronger supports for the weight above, more layers means less support at the upper levels but digging deeper and more support at the lower levels since there is a greater volume of non load bearing space above them.
There simply isn't enough space under London for 2 million miles of tunnels big enough to be human traversable.
A cylindrical cross section (like Crossrail or the Tube) would be stronger than a box section but would have to wider (hence even more volume) since you would need to put a floor in it and would need to allow headroom.

Technical question. I'm moving flat on May 1 (still within London - different borough though).

I've already had my voter card sent to my current address and I'd prefer to vote by post, but am I allowed to vote by post from my current address even though I'll be at a new one come May 6th?

Yes, no one will know
People often come into polling stations and if not registered at new address, give their old address and if they're down as that they get to vote
