Living off the land 100%

What do you need cash for?
Has the land started to demand currency for its bounty?
What next? We take MasterCard if you want to pick some berries.

Beer. I can't brew it in my backpack.

I am only trying to live 100% from what I harvest to eat.

I still have to pay for beer, tobacco, chemist stuffs (although I am finding free/natural alternatives for this also), beds, clothes/washing, going to have to buy new hiking boots also, fixing and upgrading my laptop took a lump also, many other little things which cost money and you didn't realise you couldn't live without in contemporary society. I do not want to return home skint - wherever I choose to spend winter I will need a deposit and months rent at minimum. I do not have savings, or assets. I live totally from the income of my art. This often means living day to day. Summer is easy. I am trying to pick-up work for winter.

Some people can probably live without money. I can't. I am a very capable person - absolutely no reason why I should rely on charity, or freeloading to live healthily and happily. Unfortunately not everything grows on trees.

This is not a middle class hippy game. I am actually doing it.

But you're not doing it. You aren't making enough money during the summer months to see you through winter. You're literally living hand-to-mouth, so how do you expect to survive the winter if you aren't making money during the summer? Are you one of those trust fund hippies?

I have made €470+ in Four days. I will stay here for a couple of days more whilst I rest my foot. If you read the thread properly (I would imagine you are not actually capable of that), you should notice I am collecting business cards, telephone numbers and email addresses for future work. I have Three confirmed commissions for Madrid. Not big jobs, but a good foot in the door in each case.

From here, I will hike and harvest my way to Lagos. I fully expect to make good money there and along the Algarve to Tavira.

But, yes - winters can be tough.

Anyway. Fuck off now. I don't like the likes of you in my thread :p

Pointing out Stan's flagrant self-contradictions and raw glaring hypocrisy to Stan has about as much impact as explaining literary theory to a cake.

I said "I may have to go without beer at times".

I have always said "I will pay for beers in bars and super markets".

Don't start again you ignorant fuck wits. Please fuck off with this unless you can validate your claims.

I'm off to the park for a relaxing spliff before I start work.

If you don't have anything of any value to say here, then say it. But, I am getting fucking well depressed by all the vile accusations and inferences about my private life which should not be open to discussion on a public web forum. It is pathetic, sickening and very sad.

Well, in that case, please go & get your foot checked out, in case you have done a bit more damage than you think, after all recovery does seem to be taking a long time.

Stan everyone's life is extraordinary, i just don't get that you think yours is more so  If people were to write about the people they meet, the things that happen to them, their stoned contemplations every day.. they would have long threads about it as well, and i suspect people ribbing them too. Your descriptions of survival and name/place dropping are as if no one but you are doing anything other than waiting to die or something? I can assure you that this is just not the case  I find that you couldn't make life up most days and i suspect that this rings true for all... I'm not really sure what you would consider a 'valuable' post tbh.. I was finding your thoughts about decriminalisation interesting though, i'd like to hear more about that but tbh i reckon i will get more insight by googling?

Anyway, enjoy the sun and your smoke :)
