ridiculous comparison. GW1 started as an oil dispute;Saddam trying to cripple the Kuwaiti oil industry was a continuation of that

Brothers we know each other. How can I behave with young people? It is shameful. They are rebelling against their families. you should go and have a word with your families. tell them to get a job, join the army.

the protesters are violent .... peaceful demonstrations are ok ...hes even lead them

hes.... admitted there is armed rebellion

Falluja again ...this is how the Americans deal with peaceful demonstrations ....and how they dealt with the "blacks" in apartheid in the USA

Hes building a case for his violence in dealing with insurection ...and using China USA and Russia as examples of how to deal with this

not sure I'd fancy blowing oil wells up in a helicopter want something with a much better standoff.
might just get shot down by some near by American /Egyptian fast jet .

Nearly an hour now, not including the short toilet break.

Poor things a slave to his prostate.

Give me a chance. Bring me the sons so I can have a word with them.

BBC have given up for now.

...... just the act

a dictator destroying a country's resource to prevent others from using it ?...how is that a ridiculous comparison ...you don't think that gaddafi is capable of this ? ...because he is a good ol' boy and all for Libya and the revolution against the "great satan" ?

He not capable of doing it.

Who is the voice (not gaddafi('s) speaking in the background? Is that some prompting or something?

He never asked for the organisers of the demos to be arrested ... just killed, lol.

Can't hear that. But the translator's words are reaching us before Gaddafi's.

The references to Tiananmen and Falluja etc are pretty clear threats. Thing is, after unleashing so much staggering violence already, the threats come across as pretty empty. I mean what more could he do that he isn't doing right now.?

It was a statement of uncompromising defiance however. This is a fight to the death for everyone involved. Those involved in the uprising simply can't afford to fail or they are dead.

His call for demonstrations of support might be significant too. I think he is going to play the Mubarak game of unleashing pro regime thugs onto the streets. I guess we can assume they will be armed with more than rocks and clubs however.

bunch of mercs in jeeps and RPGs then .... but dont you think a paranoid fuck like himself would already have demo charges wired in place ...His main power base where he would be safest is also where the wells are !

I'll bet its page 1 on the dummy's guide for mad dog dictators

Did he say that? I guess it's him who doesn't know his history.

yes, his words. He is closing up now having treated us to a second reading of that poem. Regerring to himself in the 3rd terms he called the youth, they grew up with Gaddafi, bring them to me (as if they are his children). He is still going but even AJ have left him now.

I know! :D I've been reporting on this thread. I just missed that bit.

UK frigate being sent to assist ....... with or without authorisation into Libyan waters ? ......... not too sure about that ....would it give mad dog an opportunity to show that the insurrection is being driven from the outside ..?.the cockroaches and drugdealers

BBC said one heading that way but unlikely to get permission to dock for evacuees. A flight being approved more likely according to man on the Beeb.
