Lambeth Council Watch - news and updates about the 'co-operative' council

Disturbing:

"The government ombudsman ruled in Ayoola Ahmed's favour when Lambeth Council were slow to fix the first ceiling collapse, the second time she said she was almost killed when it came down again ..."

Mum says she's lucky to be alive after flat ceiling collapses twice leaving her homeless

"All I want is a peaceful home, this has put a strain on my whole family. My parents are pensioners, they should be relaxing but they are worrying about me all the time ..."

Wow. That seems quite bad?
If the council has PMQs (which it obviously doesn't) one imagines this would be first up.
AskPorter has an investor who is keen to "disrupt the property market"

I imagine they ought to be very pleased with Lambeth Homes etc!

There is some information here - if you can understand it.
Jamie EuesdenCo-Founder & Chief Operating Officer

It seems very SVG bank stuff to me. The other co-founder, Tom Shrive, ironically has a company called Pop Products Ltd - but this seems to have been a previous business not connected to AskPorter (as far as I can see).

That's interesting. I'd heard that as most of it was by way of pension that it was untouchable and that the remainder was so small it wasn't worth the effort

I don't see how any of it's worth the effort. Even getting it all back wouldn't help the shit show that is Croydon's coffers.
Deflection.

My London is on a roll, I see they have just reported that Croydon Council has decided to take legal action to recover some of the £400k settlement paid to ex CEO Jo Negrini

Here is the piece on the former Brixton Town Centre Manager

In the ( Penn) report Ms Negrini was described by those interviewed as having a “widely perceived bullying style”.

Not surprised to read this.

"The current contract with APCOA, which was awarded in 2016, has already been extended for its maximum extension period of four years. It is due to end in November 2024."

Interesting read from ultra Blairite bottom licker Jimbo Dickson.

And here was me thinking the campaign was about presenting their ideas to residents about how they could improve their neighbourhoods and lives
Not looking good so far if the Labour national party Twitter campaign is anything to go by.

I seem to recall being told from an upstairs window by a person I was canvassing in Knights Hill 25 years ago:
"I wouldn't piss on the Liberal Democrats"
I had thought this evil intent was caused by a barrage of by-election literature.
Imagine what people will think sandwiched between Jim Dickson's sophisticated "let's clone the Greens" approach and the Labour HQ Q-Anon "Fake News" approach.
Just to remind people of Gentleman Jim's thesis here:
"The Greens – as a party who profess left values – pose a unique set of problems for Labour and these may well become more acute should we get a Labour government in 2024. The solution requires a bespoke approach targeting campaign resources, dialling down on negative campaigning and going big on positive messaging around the substantial achievements of Labour councils on combatting climate change, the cost of living and fighting inequality!"
