Manchester on high alert after attacks
Clarissa Satchell

GREATER Manchester was on a state of high alert this afternoon following the explosions on the transport network in London.

Extra patrols were sent onto the streets focussing on the areas near train stations and transport networks.

Although there has been no intelligence to suggest there is any threat to the region, extra officers were sent out on the streets to act as a deterrent and help reassure the public.

Police and transport organisations are on a heightened state of alert across north-west England after terrorist explosions in London on Thursday.

Police in Lancashire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester urged people to be vigilant, stressing there was no intelligence the areas were targets.

I saw three bodies on the track. I couldn't look, it was so horrific. I think one was moving but I'm not too sure.
