im watching the press conference at the moment... Paddick is very good! It sounds like everything is under control again. Perhaps by late today I can catch a bus home!
Heh, it doesn't look that way to me, it looks like he's been picked to put a good face on it and give exactly the impression you have.

Good for him.
Stupid bloody hacks, was it the Sun or the Mirror?

Some of these journalists ask the most stupid questions, like the one who asked "were there any children involved?" it's not as if they are going to say is it?

Yes, I saw a later post saying it was Exhibition Road. Very close to us.

RLC???
Royal Logistic Corps, army's transport/feeding/suply group, also has Bomb disposal (for IED) in the UK for historical reasons.

Shit! I used to work at IC.

One of the computer people was convicted of being an Al-Qaeda operative last year
He hasn't been convicted of anything yet, but he's in the process of extradition to the US. The evidence against him looks rather shaky, but that's another thread.

Not a surprise sadly :( Current figure "at least" 33. And lots of gruesome but not life-threatening injuries.

It'l keep going up as they confirm deaths (it can't be easy estimating deaths from a bomb going off in an enclosed space like a bus), as people in critical condition slip away etc.

I guess that they cannot identify some of the bodies from the bus bomb - hardly surprising. The upstairs of a bus must hold about 30 people I think. They won't give out numbers until they have contacted the next of kin.

Viccy Station reopen, national rail services running, buses running with diversions around the crime scene areas.

Pretty good turnaround really I reckon.

That was unsurprisingly the Mail.

Fucking right. Twat. My wife was told to walk to work earlier this morning when it started and I wish I'd told her not to.

Told to walk to work... some bosses somewhere need a serious twatting.

Twatty bosses - agreed. Mine told me to bus it to work when I called in.

So glad I didn't.

This evening:

No circle
No "metpass" (whatever that is)
shuttle service on piccadilly
full service everwhere else on tube
bus services just resuming in Zone 1
DLR resuming

Hi all, is there anyone who can confirm that the tubes (central line in my case) are running again as the BBC travel site and the National Rail underground site are still listing "all stations closed and services suspended". Link to a decent transport site that actually gets updated would be useful.

Thanks to you all for keeping me updated throughout the day.

Need a serious slapping don't they?

Found out my friend is okay, but I'm still trying to track down others,

I wouldn't expect the Central to up until tomorrow at the earliest.

Don't think Liverpool Street is open, Mrs.Griff went to Bethnal Green and is getting overground to Chingford.

at my work we phoned everyone due in and told them to stay at home and then went home ourselves.

those bosses that told people to go in need a swift kick up the arse.

Mine too. I've been worried about her all day.

I called work this morning to see if everyone was ok and was told Kate hadn't turned up or called in. Was trying to call her mobile but just kept going to voicemail. She called me back a couple of hours ago so a great weight has been lifted.

Am I wrong for quite liking the "fuck you" message this seems to send?

There will be no tube trains until tomorrow morning. Even then it will be limited as the sites of the bombs (eg Picadilly line) will be treated as 'scenes of crime'. The whole of the circle line will be out. It will be days perhaps weeks before a normal service will be provided.
