July 2005 London bomb blasts: UPDATES AND NEWS ONLY - NO DISCUSSION

I used to go to the School of Mines (part of Imperial College) and my friends are still there. Very concerned that a university would be targeted. Unless as someone said earlier that it was some idiot student.

Although there were some students arrested there last year under terrorism charges.

I could be talking complete speculative bollocks though, so best ignore me.

My vodaphone signal's gone, has been intermittent all day.
Yes same here. It went through an hour or so of being completely fine, but now it's just gone.

about 15mins ago the bbc said that victoria mainline was open

Mr S has just walked to Victoria train station and its definitely closed. Spoke to him 2mins ago. No reports of it being closed though on the news/websites - only Kings X mainline.

All my mates at IC seem convinced it was a flase alarm, just a bag that was accidentaly left somewhere & everyone panicked.

Of course, there's no evidence that anything was "targeted" in Kensington - most likely it was just a bag left unattended.

South ken is a bit of target what with embassies and stuff. I went to school there and when 9/11 happened we were evacuated because our school was seen as a unlikely but possible target.

The School of Mines is not far from a couple of embassies, but most of them that are in SW7 are further down (south of Cromwell Road largely).

I'd prefer to think this particular incident (minor as it turns out) is just a precautionary controlled explosion , but we don't have enough info yet.

I do know that Exhbituion Road is no longer cordoned off, and hasn't been for a while.

7 confirmed fatalaties on first incident
21 on second
edgeware rd - 5 fatalaties
woburn sq bus - can't confirm no's of fatalaties
4 devices

:(

Bus services later, Kings X, Liverpool St and Victoria closed (not Euston?). Victoria may reopen later

Just heard about the lady I work with.. She was sitting on the bottom deck on the bus. She needs an emergency operation but fingers crossed she will be ok.

All I can say is it is pure evil

so glad she's ok, hope you're ok too libs :)

One of the girls from my office who was on the bus had cuts, bruises and shock. The other who was with her is being operated on for injuries to both legs.

people being asked to go home when they can, sooner rather than later.
I'm leaving in about 15 - I reckon a lot of people will come out about 4 and I might have a hope in hell on getting on a useful bus beforehand.

Good luck to everyone getting home.

Has anyone heard of the rumour of the guy shot near Canary Wharf? Any info on this?

Plenty of rumour, Reuters know about it but have been told not to release it. So it might be bollocks ... or it might not.
