Does anyone know about the regions. I've tried to Access BBC Manchester & Liverpool pages & there down. I'd heard rumblings at work about something happening in Manchester. I don't want to panic anyone. But do any Urbanites know?
"Heightened state of alert but no threat"

Just cycled from the City to Brixton... buses are running south from E&C.

Really quiet once you cross the river though... justs loads of people walking.. no traffic.

There was a controlled explosion at Poole Railway station at about 14:00Pm,
felt it here about 1.5 miles away. Assume this is just a precaution (suspect device?) some roads still shut nearby.
Hope all is settling down in London now.

From London Traffic Control, the numbers are traffic speeds.

There have been an unusually high number of police and ambulances going up Princess Parkway towards Manchester city centre. I expect it's just a precaution though.

That Statement by the terroists mentions England Burning in the North South East & West. I don't wanna worry anyone, but there may be other devices.

Exhibition road, and it was just a precautionary measure, most likely just some drunken student left a bag lying around

Blimey! Even nearer me that I'd guessed

When I first heard about 'controlled explosion', my initial reaction was that it was a precaution because of a bag being left lying around.

i hope they meant london and it is all over

Nuffink happenin in Manc from what I've seen, I live very close to a Police Station and would spot a lot of them leaving in all probability.

(it was mad on 9/11 tho, they just all drove around the town centre with their sirens on for no reason!)

Newcastle City Centres' Monument Mall shopping has been evacuated.

This is the first actual confirmation of a controlled explosion in SW7 that I've seen.

There are a lot of houses like that in the area, but it looks like one of those very near the tube station. One or two of them are embassies or consulates.
Looks like it could be part of the IC buildings near princes gardens. The housing office perhaps.

Good to see the RLC doing thier job though.

Shit! I used to work at IC.

One of the computer people was convicted of being an Al-Qaeda operative last year

My mum's in town - she says there's a hell of a lot of police about.

I'm on the newsdesk of the MEN, if I hear anything I'll let you all know straight-away.

Metro Radio are reporting that the Metrocentre in Gateshead has recieved 13 bomb threats since 10.45am this morning

fuckwits

I hope they track each and every one of them down.

We won't know exact casualty numbers for at least another 24 hours I suspect, more bombs may yet go off in other cities in the evening rush hour.
