Italy v Uruguay (Group D) Tuesday 24th June 2014

If footballers start doing the John Hopoate one, two, stinkeroo tackle I think they should:hmm:

The Ringmaster, as he was known in NZ :D Suarez has a long way to go before he hits these depths.

During a 2001 clash with the Cowboys, Hopoate, in an attempt to unsettle several of his opponents, inserted his finger in three players' anuses, the first occurring during the seventh minute of play. At the conclusion of the match the matter was immediately referred to the rugby league judiciary where a case was put forward from both sides on 28 March.

Hopoate claimed in front of the panel of judges that he was simply attempting to give all three players "a wedgie" with his fingers, denying he had done anything wrong and that he was "a great believer in what happens on the field should stay there".[5]

The three victims in the case, Cowboys players Glenn Morrison, Peter Jones and Paul Bowman all disagreed with the reasoning put forward by Hopoate and his team. Jones stated, "It wasn't a wedgie. That's when your pants are pulled up your arse. I think I know the difference between a wedgie and someone sticking their finger up my bum", while Bowman stated that he was "disgusted" and "couldn't believe it."[6]

Hopoate subsequently was charged with unlawful sexual connection in relation to the incident.

This is kind of part of the issue here. If you look at the Uruguayan capts response last night it's pretty much the same. This is the mentality of some players still and historically it's how 'The legendary' hard men got away with murder and gained their reps. It's that sportsman's honor kind of bollix.

"The ref didn't see it, the lino didn't see it so stop whinging ya fucking pussy"

I'm not advocating this but it's part of the context in why things like this go on. It's only since TV rolled up with it's big money that every millisecond has come under close scrutiny.

'Shoulder to eye' :hmm:
seems to start with an affectionate nuzzle and got carried away

Fifa’s disciplinary code has the scope to suspend a player for a maximum of 24 matches – which, technically, can include club games but in practice tends to be only internationals. The longest ban in World Cup history was an eight-match one on Italy’s Mauro Tassotti for breaking Spain’s Luis Enríque’s nose in 1994 with an elbow.

Still not black and white regards where a ban (and there will be a ban) will be applied. If it is only applied to internationals he won't be playing for Uruguay for a very long time. No doubt this tournament is over for him which is going to make Columbia pretty happy :)

It's a bit of a weird fetish. Biting the biggest and ugliest footballers he lays his eyes on. Hes nuts.

I like the way he bit him so hard that he hurt his teeth ...

... unless his defence will be that he was pretending injury trying to get the Italian sent off.

I don't follow English football or know anything about Suarez, but is he a bit of a simpleton? A man-child, as someone said on TV?

OR even high to mid functioning autistic spectrum? He's clearly a football genius, but what is making him bite? That's what I'm fascinated by!

Maybe he bit his mum when he was three and she bit him back.

He's a fucking superb footballer - I'd say in the top 3 or 4 in the world. But also clearly has a screw loose.

I think this must be some kind of childhood trauma, bet he was bullied as a kid for his buck toothed appearance - and in the heat of the moment he loses it and turns in to a kid again and reacts.

So ideally this means the hubcap connoisseurs miss out on £65m from Real, and then early in the season Suarez breaks out the fava beans and chianti again for a twenty match ban.

Have RAWK told everyone what they're allowed to say and think about this yet?
I don't go on there mate. I had a looksy last night to see what comical shite was coming out of some of them. I prefer the blue kipper myself. Like taking toffee off a bunch of babies :D

The same Uruguayan captain who punched an England player in the throat the other day?

Yup It would appear so. Here's the quote from last night.

Uruguay captain Diego Lugano: "You saw this, really? You need to show me because I didn't see anything. Did you see it today or did you see what happened in other years. You couldn't have seen it today because nothing happened.

"The worst of everything is the attitude of Chiellini. He's a great player, with an enormous status. It doesn't correspond with Italian football. As sportsmen leaving the field, crying and appealing against a rival. As a man he disappointed me totally."
:hmm:
