Thanks LynnDoyleCooper and 8ball I sort of feel a little bit heavy headed/swimmy but it's quite pleasant and mild. It's probably just me, I didn't have much sleep last night and I'm buzzing with happiness of having got jabbed so I suppose it's that combination. Only other symptom is my arm is a tiny bit stiff/sore.
I was really surprised how little the actual injection hurt - I could barely feel it. And I'm a bit of a self confessed soft arse with injections. tattoos I'm fine, small blood test I'm all over the place 😂

The local mosque which was being used for testing will be doing vaccinations from Friday, aiming to do a 1000 a day. Anyone in tiers 1-9 or over 50 can make an appointment with them directly.
I walked past mosque on way to park about 11am. About 20 people queueing outside. When I came back about an hour later queue was gone.
Apparently this way of inviting people to apply directly is being publicised by local community groups. It's being trialled here to see whether it will encourage more BAME people to get vaccinated - it is open to anyone local, not necessarily BAME.

By all accounts sometimes - smallpox in particular they use a bifurcated needle that deliberately causes damage to get a good immune response - which is also why they sometimes include irritant adjuvants.

I had a nasty reaction with my smallpox inoculation.
It crusted over with a dirty scab, despite the dressing, and eventually the depth of the scab included the gauze.
I had an allergic reaction to the zinc oxide plaster and the rash swelled alarmingly. It was also extremely itchy.
As a result I've a large scar, much bigger than the BGC one.

Big enough that the nurse giving me my covid jab last week asked about it !

Weirdly I can't find any record on my file.
Three separate polio jabs though - but no mention of the sugar lump .. :hmm:
No way do I remember the polio jab at 16 after I'd left school
Maybe the new surgery will do a better job when I ask for it again to get translated into French...

He's been posting, I know because I just gave him advice. And I'm not being harsh. "Mentioning no names...@editor" was meant to be...jocular. But. Yeah. OK.

See you can detect jocularity in your own post but not in mine - wonder if that might work the other way round? ;) (still being jocular).

As of today, 73 Urbz jabbed, up from 46 last Sunday. Represents 42% of those taking part in the poll. 99 not yet jabbed.

I'd say that's a good week.

And as of today, one week on...

99 Urbz jabbed, up from 73 this time last Sunday. Represents 50.5% of those taking part in the poll, 97 not yet jabbed (plus William of Walworth :hmm: )

Pretty consistent numbers, 27 week before this one, 26 this one.

I had my first jab yesterday morning, Pfizer. Hardly felt a thing. My upper arm has been a bit stiff, and I have spent the day asleep, but that's nothing new. :D

GP surgery phoned on Tuesday evening, asking if I wanted a jab, and I was much impressed by the organisation and efficiency at the hospital.

The Dr giving me the jab said that the was also amazed by the efficiency, and said it reminded him of the opening of the Olympic Games.

They didn't mention part 2.

Unless I'm missing something you haven't voted in the poll at the top of this page UrbaneFox ? You'll be number 100 on the yes vote...

Then in a couple of days you can do the second poll (below this paragraph) How exciting for you!

I though I had (my hand was trembling with excitement).

No 100! Life just gets better, all the time.

See Things That Have Chuffed You Today. My neighbour has been in Intensive care with C19, but he phoned my tonight, so :D:D:D:D:D:D

You still haven't. :hmm:

Great news about your friend :)
