Ghana versus USA (knockout)

. . . i wish England's underachieving millionaires had shown half the heart and workrate of Ghana and Uruguay.

On that note, what is this 'golden generation' talk about? Is it just a reference to how much the England lot get paid in their normal day jobs?

i suspect it's a reference to the poor quality of the next generation of English-born players due to the laughable academy system, where the rich clubs get round the 'homegrown' rule by buying houses for the young players that they've poached from European teams. i hope i'm wrong.

Indeed, which means that anyone looking to drive through the Portland Road area of Thornton Heath should do so now, because the road is about five minutes away from being to be blocked by a load of very happy people.

:D

South Norwood init. The Gold Coast and whole area will be mental for an hour at least :D

:D They know how to celebrate! Its been a couple of days, but I was away yesterday.

It was mental! 2000 people easy- the road was jammed and it was contra flow traffic for most of the evening with pub staff directing road traffic and trying to keep revellers out of the road!

Terrific singing! The Police turned up for 10 mins which just led to deafening cheers and waving. After they left and the crowd continued singing at buses and cheering at cars beeping their horns.

The Serbia and Australia games were just as well celebrated. The Australia game led to a 6pm rave, proper bumper to bumper! Lots of Aussies there too/ Americans there too.

Thus far, the Portuguese and the Ghanaians have had the best parties.

Buses were beeping and setting off their alarms and the folk in them were dancing and conducting cheers out of the windows.

This woman was dancing and beeping in her car, dude laid his flag in front of her car and bowed before her.

A lot of English fans stuck in the traffic simply parked up and came to join in the dancing.

Brilliant happy clip! Forwarded!

It was that x2000 on Portland Road last week. We got in about 6 hours of bouncing and singing.

"Everybody, EVERYBODY, bring your calabash here, BRING YOUR CALABASH HERE!"

Win or lose tonight is going to be HUGE!
