My position on violence, war & conflict is pretty well documented here over the last decade. I abhor the Israeli Govt/IDF attack on Gaza and understand why the violence flared up in the first place. As I said in a previous post - a reminder the world of the plight of the second class citizens suffering under the apartheid regime in Israel.

I am a pacifist, which can be limiting, agreed. I've never claimed to be a fighter or a rebel. I take issue with hippipol's violent fantasies of mass murder - how on earth is that helping matters?

I found myself in the middle of a Pro-Israel demo in Dam Square the other day. There was a Palestinian counter demo on at the same time. I didn't see any violence or hear any anti-semitic slogans (as I have done in London). That, to me, achieves more than violence does.

I can't quite fathom it. Not just him but every apologist I've come across. There's a weird disconnect, completely, from reality. Is it propaganda that's done it? Is it inability to confront the horror of what you apologise for or is it something else? As I said earlier, it's so bizarre to me I'm having to constantly check to see if I'm in the wrong.
