Not yet, perhaps. But they willPeople that don't waste their lives on internet forums like we do won't know what a "facepalm" is.
They'll think there's just been a gust of dust.
Why is it bollocks
and what else should we be doing?
I am! I'm not sure why you think the two things are mutually exclusive...Because it is.
Go on the fucking march.
People that don't waste their lives on internet forums like we do won't know what a "facepalm" is.
I've got an idea, hear me out...
'LOL' against the Cuts! Everyone around the country, at exactly 2pm in the afternoon, shouts "LOL!" as loud as they can. If the people on the march did it they'd create quite an atmosphere.
No??? Anyone???
You don't shout 'LOL', you type it. Apart from that it's a good idea.
There are, however, takers for this. You're going to have to spell out your point if you want to make one. I could guess what you meant but it could be any of a number of things and I wouldn't want to put words in your mouth.
Yeah, you still haven't explained why you think so...
Anyway, if only a very few people did it, it wouldn't be terribly effective. Same as any demo. You're also right that this won't put any pressure on. However, that's not the purpose. The purpose is to help draw more attention to a day of national protests.
Oh, and what does plastic mean in this context? Is there some particular standard of authenticity to be adhered to?
Ah but... Alot of them spend time on Facebook
So if this achieved its aim of a bit more publicity for the protests, then you'd deem it authentic?Stuff that works
I don't subscribe to Avaaz, no. I assume you're aware that photographers often take pictures of demonstrations? And that if lots of people take part in a particularly visual demonstration, especially if they're all together, it might appear in some media? How does it do that? I bet you subscribe to Avazz.
I have Before this, I mean...I've never seen a facepalm on facebook.

You can't afaik, but I've seen people post pics or write *fp*How do you post a facepalm smilie on facebook?

Yes, I know it's simple and silly, but o the joy of seeing thousands doing a minute's facepalm together as one bit of the protests. Yes?
