F1 2020

Well someone working for Brazilian GP TV has an interesting list of phone numbers, they spoke with the director of road safety for Sao Paulo state while waiting for the restart, one thing I learned today is that the design of crash barriers is a real science, while they are there to do a job, they are designed to do that job in many different ways. Lots of talk about directional impact, momentum of force and absorption etc. Went well over my head :)

If he hadn't managed to extricate himself, for example if he'd suffered concussion or a broken leg, I think the folks who were there would have had a pretty tough job getting him out. I reckon a fire truck would have been too late.
Which shows how well the trackside boys did. They were so quick to get stuck in as best they could. But everything about that collision was a run of good luck for Grosjean to get out at all.

How could Pirelli get their tyre choice so wrong, they said fastest is Medium, soft, soft 2nd fastest medium, medium, soft and 3rd fastest was a one stop medium then hard. so far none of the front runners have gone even close to that
