No, because europe is the only place on earth that has a real ideology of multiculturalism, of unity through difference. Because europe is the most thrilling, culturally dense place on earth. Because the EU is the political organisation with which I most identify - a loose organisation defining the rights and obligations of it's member citizens whilst leaving them great internal freedoms. Because I have spent most of my life within europe. Because it is the only place at this current moment that I would choose to reside. Because I have faith in the protection of the european community. And because the flag is well snazzy.

Christ, I'm no euro-sceptic per se, but you don't seriously believe this , do you?

My passport says British, but that means basically nothing to me. As far as I'm concerned we English have more in common with the Dutch, Danes, Germans, Czechs, Japanese and West Indians than we do with the Welsh and Scots. I would take an English passport if it existed!

Steeplejack. I understand what you're saying but the only way to keep the Tories out of my constituency is to vote Lib Dem. Apart from that IMO their candidate actually cares enough about Cornish issues to do as good a job as MK. He has campaigned vociferously about the Cornish langauge and afaik was fairly instrumental in having it recognised as an official language. My only memories of MK are of a 'party' who spent so much time arguing with each other that they couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery and that the most memorable feature of their candidate for my constituency was her tits.
Of course it may all have changed.
Nationally I'm concerned about the conservatves getting in and I feel that voting MK (even if I wanted to) would go some way towards ensuring that.

With regards to Europe's solid human rights record...

Where did the two biggest wars of all time take place? Ah, Europe.

I'm half Irish, half Polish Jewish, 100% Manchester!

I'm British but the origins of my family are: England, Ireland, Scotland and Italy. In fact I should have an Italian surname but my Grandad had to change it after the war because it stopped him getting a job.

I'm British, born in Scotland. The army, pragmatic as ever, called me Brit/Scot.

So, to answer the question, British/Scottish. :D

I know, I know, I know. :D :D :D

It's the only place in Kernow where MK aren't and won't stand, now that Dick Cole is standing in North Cornwall.

And it's fun derailing the master derailer's thread.

Bristolian.

But until the checkpoints go up on the M32, I'll go for the next best thing. Which is English.

Don't know what the fuck 'British' means really.

Brought up in Cornwall but with a Scottish surname, although family have lived in England for at least a few generations. Funny how people move about so much.

irish parent scottish parent born and half raised in france, rest of me raised in scotland.

lost.

i don't identify massively with any nationality, race, i don't believe in any political ideology or religion.

my only irrational belief, the only thing i truly identify myself with is Hibernian Football Club.

My parents were Scottish, I was born and spent my childhood in NZ, but I've lived in England my entire adult life.

I'm so confused. I don't know what to choose. ;)
