Ok so the Ashes are over :( This thread is for discussion of the post-Ashes rebuild, English cricket in general and the glorious victories we will undoubtedly revel in ;):hmm:

It's going to be an interesting year for the ECB and the various XIs...

Shit result for England in the first ODI. Rankin returns, surprisingly, but he looks pretty expensive and didn't get a wicket. When he walked off in the last test it didn't look like the sort of injury where you could be bowling again a week or so later.

Awesome captaincy again. Cook is truly pathetic. A good batsman but never captaincy material. It was awful to watch.

He should have been out when he was caught really. It was pretty smart work noticing there weren't enough players outside the ring but he's not technically allowed to alert the umpires to it after the fact.

Good innings tho. Amid the usual shower of shit. How much longer for Root?

So, Finn then. Another one flying home

Aussies are 178 - 5 now. 18 overs left.

Maxwell taking it away from us a bit.

Australia now number 1 again after India losing two straight matches to NZ (or rather to Corey Anderson - who looks like he'll be set for life in the next IPL auction). Unbelievable player, with bat and ball.

Stokes clearly has a lot of potential as a player, but there's something a bit 1990s-next-Ian-Botham about him.

Please, don't put that thought in my mind.

Not been watching the one-dayers but it sounds like Jos' keeping has improved, or his concentration at the very least.
