I like english mustard with pickled herring, (rollmops,) or spread thick on gammon sprinkled with sugar and grilled, and on hot dogs with tomato sauce.

Dijon with cookingy stuff.
 
My dad used to get something called Thomy Senf .. it came in like a toothpaste tube and it was lush... might have been French, can't really remember.
 
Wholegrain or dijon with cooking, depends on mood.

French's mustard in sandwiches, ie cheese, gherkin, mayo and mustard sandwich :)
 
I voted yes but that's because I like French mustards. English mustard is pointless. Bitter, aggressively hot and without any real depth of flavour. I've really tried to enjoy it but I can't.
 
When people ask for mustard at work, and I ask them what kind, I always know before they answer what they're going to say. Especially with English mustard. You can spot people a mile off.

Make your own, bit of double cream with it and brown sugar.
 
Love the Colman's English Mustard but it simply has to be on a brown sandwich with good quality ham and some very ripe cherry toms (off the vine)
I concur with 8115 regarding the cooking mustards. Honey and mustard chicken is nomerlisciousness.:)

I once got food poisoning from cooking honey and mustard chicken, well over ten years ago, still can't bring myself to eat it.

But yes, ham and mustard were made to go together.
 
American mustard is good in that it is a tempered, tamed version of English mustard and therefore, when you see yellow mustard coming towards you in an eating situation, you're glad that it's American not English. It's probably what Firky was referring to earlier with the cream and sugar advice.

French mustard is on a higher plane.
 
No: the issue was about Stanley starting a crop of threads on the internet, when he's sitting in Spain. Is Spain so boring that this is preferable?
What nonsense is this? Are people in Spain not meant to discuss mustard? It's not Stanley's fault if your best mustard looks like the sort of stuff you'd get in a bargain bucket in Asda.

I'm just procratinating before picking up the drycleaning, and buying supplies for the Thanksgiving dinner.

Also, I'm in Canada, not Spain? If I was in Spain, I'd be drinking sangria, and doing the tarantella down at the bodega with my seniorita, muchacho.

My favourite. Dijon is very nice, too. I also like grainy mustard for cooking roasts etc. Roast pork with loads of grainy mustard rubbed in is great.
 
I have liked all the mustards I have tried so far.
I quite like the really sharp ones as they give a bit of a unique zinging in your brain that you can almost feel hit the back of your skull. It's a bit of a rush.

He lives there, he's not on holiday. If I lived in Canada I wouldn't act like I was there for a fortnight. I wouldn't spend the whole time dressed up as a mountie and congratulating myself that I'm not American or whatever the hell else it is you do.

If I were in Canada I'd be on a skiiing moose playing ice hockey.
