Speaking of air fryers...

I use ours for the usual chips, roast spuds, hash browns, waffles, everything by Strong Roots, chicken burgers, anything that was frozen and is solid,

Today I used it for those semi pre-baked crusty rolls.
They were done in jig time and perfect.

I believe you can bake a cake in an air fryer?
Not tried that yet...

Not like, the most amazing of tripod lamps but considering we were out looking for a shower curtain, it all turned out rather well!

Spotted a grey one for £18 having been £180 so though it's worth a shot. Was told it was broken (lamp holder cracked), said I wasn't bothered but was asked if I was interested in the black or white one instead but I said grey is best for us and got a further 20% due to the breakage.

Didn't realise it came with a shade, thought it was just the legs, being so cheap. The black and the white were also reduced to that price so I thought fuck it! I'll take the lot :D

Then, the white scanned at 9 FUCKING QUID!!!

Shade is wonky due to cracked lamp holder, which a replacement for is arriving tomorrow ;)
Also needs a lower wattage lamp.

Floor Lamp Classy, Black
The floor is lush!

I have a bedding rant and wasn’t sure where to put it (probably nowhere because it’s really boring).

Last year I bought a really expensive superking duvet and also some Cath Kidston bedding. It was a fucking pain all winter with the duvet slipping around in the cover so one of us ended up cold every fucking night. We tried poppers but they would come undone.

We were putting the winter duvet back on and I decided to measure it because I’m still pissed off. It’s fucking 10cm smaller than it should be which is clearly why it doesn’t fit the cover properly.
I’m going to email the company tomorrow but they’re going to think I’m mad aren’t they? :D

I’m so annoyed because we spent so much money, much more than we could afford now. Cheeky fuckers!

You could just run a seam up the side of the cover?

It seems you can - I've watched some videos of people pushing how far they can take things with them, and it seems you can pretty much do most things. Wouldn't be able to do an ordinary 2lb loaf cake though - the loaf tin wouldn't fit. Could use empty food cans for tins I suppose - that would probably work quite well.

Had to do a test run of the pressure cooker earlier, in line with the instructions (empty except 3/4 litre of water). Quite surprised it only took about 5 minutes to get up to pressure.

I'm so pleased. Finally bought a sofa, four months after moving in. Buying a sofa seems unnecessarily difficult. When I looked online, deliveries seemed to be 12 weeks +, the ones in charity shops were not to my taste. Went to Ikea and found a suitable one in minutes. Bit annoying that it'll arrive on Friday as I'm leaving on Friday for a month, but it'll be nice to come back to! My living room is slowly turning into the way I want it to be.

I really quite fancy the idea of that, let us know how it goes! (Or if anyone else has one, I'd be interested to hear about it - I'm not much into gadgets, - other than toaster, kettle, food processor and air fryer - those all get used a lot - but this sort of thing looks like it would get fairly heavy useage)
I haven't actually used mine yet, but this video looks like it's pretty versatile. Might experiment with a roast chicken at some point.

Got a hot tub. A rental company is closing down and selling off their kit. Got a nice condition 4-6 person one for 200. Got it cleaned up and set up in the garden. It's going to take overnight to heat up and you have to give it 24 hours after the first chlorine treatment, so we should be up and running for a solstice soak under the stars tomorrow.

My sister and husband have just fitted one at the top of their garden in Berkshire. It means running up a slope to get to it if in the cold, but has lovely views down the valley! We're looking forward to having a go next year.

I think that looks really nice. I’ve never seen anything like that before. I obviously go to the wrong stores! Will have to find a good second hand furniture shop for when I move.

Here in Sheffield there's so much choice in second hand furniture. I browse round them now and again - it's often flowery sofas with dog hair on, but perserverance pays off. We have Emmaus, BHF, and a local hospice place too. In fact the only new furniture I got was my bed, sofa, and armchair.

I’ve found so far in Exeter - BHF (which is in the centre will wait till I need to go into town), Hospiscare and Salvation Army. Plus the usual antique emporiums which may be worth a look.

Help and recommendations for a bed solution, please!

For the past year, I have been sleeping on a single mattress on the floor of my room. Room was unfurnished bar a wardrobe, shelves and desk I had myself, and the single mattress was left over from a previous flatmate. Was meant to be a stop-gap, but I just can't decide what to do.

Space and aesthetic-wise, I am actually happy with the single mattress on the floor. Used to love a double bed even in smallish rooms, but in lockdown and even now spending much more time at home and doing yoga etc at home, I have been enjoying the additional floorspace.
Two problems: 1) It's very uncomfortable to sleep on! (But that might just be because not only is it a mattress on the floor, it's a cheap, saggy one...) 2) It'd be nice to have a double bed when partner stays over, rather than having to add another make-shift airbed type thing.

I have spent hours googling for ideas. :/
Sofa bed might be an option - something like this Habitat Kota sofabed | in Lambeth, London | Gumtree
I know a lot of people find them uncomfortable for daily use, but I have always slept well on any sofa bed, and would be happy to give it a go, especially if bought for a relatively low price. Could leave it folded out most of the time, but would have the option to make it smaller for exercise or if WFH required it, or if I fancy sitting on a sofa!
Problem with Gumtree however is that by the time I have organised delivery myself - for which I guess I'd have to hire a van and two men which is £££, I might as well buy a new one. And while in theory I wouldn't mind spending a bit more money on something new and good, the precarious nature of flatsharing means I might not have space for it wherever I might move next. :/

Or maybe I will get just something like this, plus a decent mattress https://www.argos.co.uk/product/9226816?clickSR=slp:term:single beds:16:313:1 - I came across it for the first time yesterday - I like the no-headboard no footboard look, and it would give me a bit of underbed storage space. Sadly doesn't solve the issue of having a comfortable two people space!

Do you have space for a trundle i.e. a single bed with another one underneath?
