Take it up obv. If you can't sew, get some of that iron on hemming stuff innit.Talking of belts, any ideas for what to do about a maxi dress which is about 4" too long? Usually I'd tuck the excess length up into a fairly wide belt (if couldn't be bothered to take it up), but this dress is empire line, so that'd look a bit strange.
Usually I would. But it's got a flounce at the bottom, which will either need shifting or completely removing to do so (or the depth of it will look odd). It's also heavyish cotton jersey.Take it up obv. If you can't sew, get some of that iron on hemming stuff innit.
Not really (mail order and got rid of the tags - yes, I know, silly). It's unusual enough for a dress to fit even half of me (even when it's the right size), and the upper part of this one fits beautifully. Can you not just take it back?
No need to be about it from there, if you like the dress and it fits.asda

Are you having a brown trouser moment? Two pairs of trousers for work from ebay, both new with tags but under a fiver each. One a new pair of linen M&S striped fawn and cream striped which got bunged in the machine and dyed deep brown which have come out really well and almost completely lost the stripes unless you look very closely (which was my intention) and a pair of brown cotton trousers with really deep pockets. I was going to dye those a much darker brown but they happen to match a jacket I've had for years so I'll leave them as they are.
I just like autumnal colours and my work does have a dress code so it's easier to have stuff that just goes with everything else so that I don't have to faff about in the mornings. Are you having a brown trouser moment?
