i bought a fantastic strapless bra yesterday. been wearing it all day not fallen out or had to fiddle with it once. every other strapless i've tried has either been hopeless or uncomfortable or a funny shape or too specialist for everyday wear.

I've just ordered a couple from another site... if they're rubbish I'll try this one instead

Best one I've had was from Tesco, of all places, a desperation purchase on the way out for a night on the town. Stays put whatever I do.

Yesterday I got a Quiksilver Olrik Winter Jacket from the charity shop for £6 which I am pretty sure (still had labels in) is brand new. Not bad for a jacket with an RRP of £75. Won't get worn any time soon but pleasing

I've been told I have to get the underwear and shoes before my measurements are taken, so will need to start thinking about it soon. Debating about the merits of a discreet corset ATM.

Well, it's an existing design that's being made from scratch for my measurements. Very reasonable in the circumstances! Particularly as my mother, bless her, has covered the half cost deposit

oooh!!!! You'll want a made to measure corset so it's comfortable to wear all day.

What does it mean when you're buying shoes from amazon and it has F or D after the size number?

At the same time I posted this I e-mailed one of the sellers on amazon who are listed as selling F or D sizes. This was the response:

Sorry, but I don't know the answer I have always thought that the F may stand for France and that the D my mean Deutschland etc.

If we're on the subject of dresses we want but can't have, I am very aggravated that this doesn't come in my size, although tbf £85 is far too much and the colour probably wouldn't suit me anyway:

Major result on this front today. I had to go to the shops to return some stuff and stuck my head into Monsoon and they had one of these left with £25 off, not in my size, but in my friend's size. She is a total 50s gal and was also lusting after this dress but resisting because of the price, and she has a birthday in a couple of weeks so I rang her husband and offered to get it for him to give her, which he leapt at. So I will have the vicarious satisfaction of her wearing it
