Detail your latest clothes and slap related purchases here #2

mine needs to be nuclear war proof. :D

Yeah zenie. The colours on the new ones are pretty shitty. I've ended up with a dark pink, which actually matches an old lipfinity of mine and can be used to top that up... I'm basically living in this *rummages in bag* Revlon ColorStay Overtime. The mouisturising topcoat bit is stickier than the lipfinity one but it's less dry and doesn't go bitty.

It's also double ended and the top coat won't melt in summer! I got it ages ago on a discount website so I fucking hope I can find another.

woo i has my edith piaf dress

well actually i doesn't cos it's late-40s into new look shape rather than late-30s wartime style. and it's silk not crepe cos all i'm seeing is rayon crepe and that stuff scares the shit out of me care/cleaning wise. but i reckon it's about as far towards 50s as i can manage - i don't think i can carry off the really girlish styles, but a plain black full skirted dress should be okay :hmm:

and of course there's no telling if it's actually going to fit. and it's coming from the states so long wait/customs etc.

so yeah, great purchase

Sounds good! Pic please.

I actually think mine is fifties not forties. It has a full, slightly pleated skirt, and the top is sheer with lace underneath. Hard to describe but it's lovely. I regret not buying one that was properly forties, button through with a belt.

try the MAC pro longwear lipcolour. it's like lipfinity but better - and the gloss coat is really nice. colours are a bit muted but the red is fabulous.

It's a total shame that my brother's boyfriend's girlfriend doesnt work for MAC anymore. :hmm:

will check it, ta! :)

On that note, I bought some MAC face & body concealer yesterday and am very impressed. Even better than the Prescriptives liquid cover-up I was using before. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a light base.

I haven't bought anything in ages so had a little splurge and these came through today. I was a little worried about the jeans but they look really good, probably because I finally got some in my size. The american theme is entirely coincidental, I just liked the cut.

All their models are really tall, those jeans are much longer on me, and that last top can pretty much be worn as a short dress!

What MsT said bob :)

And Ms T - post a pic of yours ;)

my one? yeah it has 3/4 sleeves.

hmm now i think on it it needs a belt but it would also need a rather fetching bangle to set off the sleeve length. plus the waist cincher if it's a bit of a squeeze. this is turning into the most expensive dress in history :(

trouble is i have drawers of cinchers and corsets but they're from when i was 1-2 stone heavier, so they don't exactly cinch any more. i'm eyeing up the little baby one they have in wkd, in black, that would work with all my other nice undies.

i hate buying clothes atm. i won't buy for my current size even though i'm still losing weight cos i keep hoping i'll get well again eventually and naturally regain the weight. but my old stuff is literally falling off me so i buy nice new (ebay) things which would look lovely if only i had an extra couple of inches to fill them out.

so fuckit i thought i'd buy a dress that actually fits me now, my prize for not cracking up totally over my application. (cincher hopefully not required but you know how it is wth online measurements...)

sorry /rant

aye, was wondering if the edith piaf reference was to the black 3/4 sleeve dress (in a style I don't know the name of) that she wore a lot.

wait til you get the dress through, then look at cinchers if you need to ;)

A pair of barely worn Russell and Bromley peep-toe sandals from Oxfam for £6.99. Bizarrely, they were also selling old Primark shoes for the same price.

my comfort shopping is getting seriously out of hand

i just bought this

hand sewn bias cut 1940s silk slip. i mean i needed a slip but

Lovely Callie.

I'm not supposed to be buying anything else this month but I found a pencil skirt in a gorgeous digital print in M&S that actually fits! Usually if they fit on the hips they gape on the waist but my exercise regime seems to be working and it's perfect and only £27! It makes me look extremely curvaceous as well, which is a bonus.
