Detail your latest clothes and slap related purchases here #2

ooh spooky i just won a skirt verrry like that on ebay. primark tho so hardly ethical...

thanks for all the shoe suggestions. i had to pay prolly full retail price for these (also primark) on ebay even though they're worn, but they didn't have anything like i was looking for when i went in.

i didn't get measurements like i usually do tho, so chances are they'll be too small. anyone want first dibs? :D

ok - help me.

i would like some new brown boots - i can't really afford them at all, but i feel like i might buy some anyway, iykwim.

i really like these, from duo:

but they're £165

i also like, but don't love (because they're so plain) these:

58.jpg

which are cheaper at £125

so i'm not sure if i will get either, because of the price - even the cheaper ones are a bit eye-watering... but if i do, can i justify another forty quid for some straps and buckles.

I wish I had thin legs and more choice...:hmm::(

Didn't buy anything myself, but spent an interesting morning on the sofa of the personal shopper's room in a Very Expensive Shop watching my sister buying a capsule wardrobe for her new and very high-powered job where she really has to wear the uniform and fit in.

They kept trying to get her to buy the supposedly fashionable line, all of which was boxy and shapeless and looked terrible on her, as well as just generally being minging ("It's meant to be like that, this is the style", they kept saying to us). One of the suits was Crystal Carrington personified - another had these diagonal stripes that completely fried my poor hungover brain. Finally they trotted out the more sensible stuff and she looked great in it, bought a very sensible combination of black jacket, skirt, trousers (the most amazing trousers), power dress etc.

My advice is to go to the Duo showroom and see if the ones with the buckles fit you actually. Half their styles I can't get into at all for some reason.

oh really? do they have all the styles in all the sizes? I have a pair that fit me fine, though... but fair enough.

They have usually all of the styles in enough of the sizes to give you a good idea. Some of them fit very weirdly IMO, and lots of them look quite nice on the page but are horrible IRL (and sometimes vice versa to be fair).

Yeah, I'm definitely suspicious about all these peg trousers that are apparently so this season. Pleated wide tops tapering to the ankles surely = frumpy death to anyone with fulsome hips and thighs. Thank goodness there is a 70s wide-leg vibe as well, I might actually find some new trousers that suit.

i just ordered one of these

Am hoping that its gonna have some more wintery bits in it tho-i think if its summer stuff and boring tops i might just send it back. Excited for its arrival just to see tho!

what i really want from there is this http://www.peopletree.co.uk/products/jewel-embroidered-cardigan/ and this http://www.peopletree.co.uk/products/eddie-dot-skirt/

What did you get? :)

Gorgeous dresses May!

it looks like he's made his hair white with talcum powder, forgetting that he was going to his job as M&S suit model not George Clooney lookalike

There must be a market for male-models-with-grey-hair-who-aren't-actually-old, same as there's one for plus-size-models-who-aren't-actually-fat.

yeah! have you seen the 'plus size' models for the curve range on asos - the clothes are hanging off them cos they are nowhere near whatever the size is that the range starts at! although to be fair, in the next catalog the models are all about 6'5" and a size 4 so they're not really representative of normal mums who buy their clothes either...
