Well they always tell you the height of the model and the length of the item, so you can work out how it'll work on you.

Boots update. They arrived and I liked them but I didn't love them and they didn't look quite right with jeans (although would be better with black jeans).

Anyway, went to Southampton today, saw loads of Fly boots that I loved but were too narrow and way out of my price range.

Stopped at Brantano on the way home and got some Rocketdog boots which are similar to the Fly ones I saw.

They also had some nice Clarks bikers in there but they were 85 quid.

I now need some black jeans.

Bought these on the way home from work today. I never usually but anything blue except jeans but these are to wear with my jeans so I made an exception.

A gold knitted top from TKMaxx. This is going to be the first of many because I've suddenly got a liking for gold.
I wish I hadn't recently chucked out my big brass dangley earrings :(

2 hairsticks. One turned holly, the other is mostly peeled rowan, with "rowan" in ogham burnt onto the upper end of the peeled bit.

I bought a blue top in H&M which I tried on before and was a bit iffy about but as it had been reduced to £4 I took a punt and two 'evening scarves' from Poundland :D One pewter and one black with silver bits.

I hope that goes better than the two swimsuits I attempted to buy. :)<snip>
Thanks, so do I. Checked the sizing and that's not the problem. They're racerbacks, which means that at the best of times they'll be a bit tricky to get into.

I bought this, which is lovely and doesn't come with that belt, which I don't like:

the problem is they're both a bit on the large size and they've run out of smaller sizes. The dress doesn't matter really, I'll wear it cinched in with a belt anyway - but the coat really is very large. I'm going to have to send it back. This is the 2nd one I've bought from ASOS with this problem - sent the last one back too. I've been looking for a parka like this for ages but it's proving really difficult. They all seem to be cut differently and I want one that's reasonably baggy but not enormous! A lot of them are really expensive too. I also want it hooded and khaki. It doesn't help that I don't stay one size for longer than 5 minutes.

La Redoute are doing spend £100 get £50 off so I did. I bought 3 dresses, 1 skirt and 3 tops for £56 including delivery. The offer includes sale stuff too.

So it's coming into colder weather and I'm very much uprepared, sartorially speaking. I've not got much and most of it doesn't fit or is past its best anyway.

How can I keep warm without looking like a midget tank?

For a couple of years I was wearing thin polo necks with a fairly delicate knit v neck wide sleeved thing over the top to give the flattering V whilst also keeping my decolletage warm but the lovely knitted top is past it's best and seemingly irreplaceable. Last year I used a checked shirt in its place which was okish. I need some every day wear especially. I mostly wear jeans including to work. I'm thinking about getting some wide leg black trousers too.

I thought something like this might work over polos http://www.dorothyperkins.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=33053&storeId=12552&productId=6152585&langId=-1&categoryId=&searchTerm=black peplum wrap&pageSize=20

But they only have sizes 6 and 8 left. Also would prefer without annoying tie at the back.

Any suggestions?

I hate clothes shopping sooooo much. :(

The quality should be about high steet standard, Shirl, maybe a little better. I bought a fake Zara shirt from the same shop a few months ago and it lasted longer than my husband's genuine Zara t-shirt, which pretty much instantly began to unravel. I haven't seen this stuff irl, but the most expensive piece was only £7 so no biggie. :)

Wow, £7 to look like you're wearing Chanel  I love that white dress.
