I have mixed success with TK Maxx - their plus size stuff is invariably frumpy and awful. I mostly just get trainers from them, and they're not really that cheap. Or the odd item of house stuff.

A lot of their stuff is dreadful. I like the randomness of it - it's like jumble sale shopping - loads of tat but then every now and then you get a jewel which is fantastic and makes all your hours of random searching worthwhile. It is very good for bags and underwear though IME

Got a black and white stripey, long sleeved, scooped neck and back mini dress in DP's for 7 quid.

What the fuck was I thinking? :D

They hardly ever have matching pants and bras though, and I have to have matching underwear.

I got two brilliant coats from TK Maxx this year, a fake fur one and a really beautiful camel cashmere Fenn, Wright and Manson one which was £150 but will last me for years. I also got a really beautiful glass dish in the shape of a leaf for a fiver. I bought one for my friend as well for Xmas.

Aye - it's a lucky day in TK Maxx if you can find a matching set of undies in your size. Has happened before now though.

It's also good for sports bras and things like that.

I don't often find much worth having in TK Maxx but I enjoy rummaging :)

I was in TK Max today and spotted a pair of Hunter welly socks for £4 but they were in a size extra small. I was gutted. I really thought TK Max had come up trumps again. I had a pair of yellow festival wellies as a xmas gift which were bought from TK Max.

I did some shopping in Boots today they have loads of cheap body products I had to be sensible. I bought a hand cream for 50p and a body scrub for £2.

In House of Fraser I bought a leopard print belt for £6 reduced from £20 and a dress from the brand Yumi which is black with a butterfly printed on the front. In NEXT I used my xmas voucher and spent £20 on a denim shirt which is long and seems like it will go well with leggings and open with dresses.

Pendant similar to this from stall in Brick Lane indoor market:

I didn't think I was into the Russian doll thing, but I really love this woman's stall, really imaginative, intricate stuff. She has some fab necklaces made from fake flowers as well. http://www.rosiewonders.co.uk/

Am trying to have a moratorium on spending on clothes at the moment as over the past 3 months I've pretty much had a wardrobe clearout which has not been cheap. The final purchase was a half-price off-the-peg suit from Savile Row (£600 = ). But it was a purchase I'd been putting money away every month to fund, so in a strange way it's quite a nice feeling to have saved up for something and finally bought it.

There are a couple of other items on yoox.com that I've got a wandering eye on, but am in no desperate need to get them so am waiting for the prices to fall (further) or will leave them be for someone else to get.

Oooh, I didn't think of TKMaxx for coats... I need a new smart-ish winter coat. I might go for a rummage on Saturday :)

Funnily enough I just had 20 minutes to kill in Manchester before catching a train, went for a quick rummage and came out with a rather lovely Gharani Strok camel-coloured wool coat, for £40.

After much faffing and not being able to find the type of trainers i wanted i bit the proverbial bullet and bought these

and now i'm happy :)

Just got an emaol saying my shoes are no longer in stock. Why didn't they say "Out of stock" on the page like everything else that is out of stock
Back to the drawing board :(

My new (new to me from Oxfam online) jacket just arrived. Cost less than a pack of smokes but my better half is not impressed with my 'look for the new season' I think. There was mention of me becoming my dad, the word freak was used and I was asked if I would be wearing it outside :(

I didn't know there was an Oxfam online! I've just ordered a black skirt from Principles, and some black denim shorts from it. Very cool. Charity shopping goes digital. love it!

Billie, that dress is proper

Today I bought a pair of crap black flats from Topshop as an emergency measure after my beautiful brown Clarks maryjanes tore my feet to shreds  The fabric of the flats has ripped already  CHEAP!

Take em back May!

I am sticking to my resolve, it's very hard though! I didn't make it to the 2nd hand sale today cos of the rain
