Those are both nice and I don't think they'd be too short on you. You're not that tall

Does length measuring work? I've been meaning to work out what sort of length dress I'd need but if I measure and compare to size charts it's all bollocks.

It should be the length from the shoulder seam to the hem. Generally that measurement is pretty accurate (compared to the size charts which vary hugely between different clothes in the same shop IME)
