I went bridesmaid dress shopping yesterday for my bezzers wedding in April. I was shit scared mainly because I haven't lost the weight I'd planned to. One of the other bridesmaids has just found out she is pregnant so will be around 6 1/2 months for the wedding. She wanted something to flatter her baby bump and I wanted something to hide my belly a bit.

We did campaign for black but were vetoed and we are having this ^^^ in Clover green.

I'm about 4 inches taller than 2 of the other bridesmaids and 8 inches taller that the preggers one :D so am going to wear flats.

Will these go?

I've got to go shopping for a bridesmaid dress soon. No idea where to go, any suggestions?

Coast and Jesire are nice on the High Street... dunno if you're in London at all, Jane Jordan are good - they're in Kingston at 26 Thames Street, Kingston Upon Thames, KT1 1PE (no website)

They have a massive range crammed in there (they only do bridesmaids stuff), but be prepared to wait around if you come on a weekend, as it gets manic in there!

ok - since everything i've bought lately has been met with a resounding silence, i reckon it's safe to say i've lost my shopping mojo.

could this half price number be a return to form?

That's lovely Spangles. And can I say... I miss the blog. I know you're on Ofsted alert so it's probably the last thing on your mind but I'll be delighted if Swelegant Style gets resurrected again

i concur. It's a bit of sparkle missing in my life

ah, you're very kind - it's a couple of things: work is so vile and stressful (ofsted have been and gone, but it's generally an unpleasant place to be of late), and there's just so much ugliness in the shops... i've no inspiration.:(

(((spangles))))

This term's always a killer.

No pressure, but when you do want to blog again we'll be waiting :)

It isn't about being kind. It's entirely selfish from my POV - I enjoy reading it :D

I think there are some nice shoes around at the mo but maybe not much else. xmas is always a season for fashion fail

I'm loving a lot of what's around at the moment. Dresses ftw!

Oh I ignore the resounding silences, you just have to hoe your own row I feel. In fact today I bought some of the shoes that were met with a resounding silence on the last page (the first ones) as I found them at a fraction of the price on Amazon in a discontinued colour (pale yellow).

i take the silences for what they are: a lack of inspiration triggered... fair doos - i only comment when inspired, too.

but i do love the phrase "hoe your own row". it's utterly splendid.

Just picked up the dress on the left on ebay - Christmas day dress

Ridiculous pose optional, I hope :hmm:

Hoping that model is tall otherwise the dress is going to be more like a top on me

NB it's dawned on me that my mild desperation about clothes is partly fuelled by the fact that I'm suddenly doing a lot of gigs with the new band. It's not the sort of band where it really matters, and I'm not fronting it either, but making an effort for gigs is kind of ingrained into me now, and I have nothing to make an effort with.
