Daine Abbot supports John McDonell's nomination for leader

Let's face it: none of this is going to affect the nation's direction for the next two decades. We'll get 2 years or so of Brown, then 5 years of Cameron and after that we'll get 10 years of Milliband.

Your point is?

Are you ever going to post something that isn't a snide dig?

I have my doubts. Over a hundred posts, and still not even a smidgeon of substance to any of them, eh becky?

I've noticed this, she's nowt but baldwin's cheerleader. I've seen her post an Oxfam article recently but that was against type: she hadn't even read the entire article and proceeded to use some choice cuts to support her 'thesis' (which was never made clear in the first place).

maybe he knows a few things that you don't.

Mmmm, I doubt that's possible. beckyp has a touch of the "dwyers" about her, whereby her posts are authoritative, and all else is as dust. :)

The website is still active http://www.john4leader.org.uk/endorsements.html

John McDonnell is the only one of the possible leadership candidates that voted against the Iraq war. John stands for a complete re-think of our foreign policy - I believe that this is one of the many changes Party members want to see".
Diane Abbott MP

But the big shift in her favour began last night when John McDonnell tried to get her to drop out of the race. He had 16 nominations and was heading towards 20.
Despite the media reaction to his joke about Margaret Thatcher, he had gone down a storm at the GMB conference. David Miliband turned to him after the hustings and said "You've won this." By contrast, Ms Abbott was asked about her second job for the BBC's This Week (she promised to in future do it for free).
Last night, McDonnell tried to get a meeting with Ms Abbott but couldn't. In the end, she met McDonnell numbers man Mike Wood and explained that she had no intention of pulling out. At that stage, she still only had 11 MPs, so it took some balls. The early decision of Harriet Harman to break with convention and intervene in the race, giving her own nomination, had raised the stakes significantly.

Abbott had well fewer than McDonnell. It was 20 vs 11 in McDonnell's favour yet McDonnell stood down for Abbott.
