Cycling Thread #2 - Track

Time was 11 seconds quicker than the record set in Sydney...that's insane!! What a performance and Wiggins, Hoy, Pendelton and SuperCav still to come :D

I can remember watching five Olympics now, and we've won the men's pursuit in every one except Atlanta. Boardman, Queally and now Wiggins twice.

Victoria Pendleton 9.30am innit?

I get nervous watching her. She lets the lead rider develop quite a gap before going for it. the Chinese girl looks a battler.
There's a lot of pressure on here; out of all of Team GB she's the one I want to win most. Seems like a normal person and has been riding since six on grass tracks! The perfect cycling role model.
Go VP!!!

I think we need to think about Plan B for 2012 - the official Olympic stadium should be the curiously shaped 7,000 seater stuck in the corner somewhere, and the velodrome should be the 90,000, all mods cons, cock waving centre piece.

Crystal Palace is the ideal size.
On second thoughts, I don't really want Paula Radcliffe crapping down our street.

It doesn't matter what her opponent does, once the sprint starts Victoria just burns them up on the back straight

Is she the girl that VP was up against in the worlds this year?

pretty sure it is...plus this time she has the crowd and she's being as tactically frustrating as possible

and Victoria has a lapse of concentration in the last ride; if she does that against Guo (sp?) she'll be punished

i'm nervous watching it!!!
