Crystal Palace 2017/18

Home, but i'm sure they said it was away. I txt my mate in Ipswich that evening asking if he wanted to go.

I see we have drawn the terriers again in the EFL cup thing
Still, revenge is sweet!

WTF were they doing making the draw in China at stupid o'clock this morning - as far as I'm aware it was not broadcast live in China?
I beleive the main sponsor is not mickey mouse but the makers of a Thai energy drink

I'm one for giving managers time, but I'm not sure I feel the same way about whole systems. We don't have 8 - 9 games to get this right. Parish has to put a time limit on this.

can we have Big Sam back please? Give me solid, direct counter attacking football over that shite. Parish looking very culpable right now, the pre season has been a mess and expecting to change the style and move to 3 ATB after spending sixpence is moronic.

after spending sixpence is moronic.
You have spent most of your budget on wages. Thats what happens when you start paying 50 and 60k a week to journeyman players and managers. I actually have some sympathy for the smaller clubs being held to ransom by greedy agents and players with fuck all in return for the paying punter. The premier is rotten to the core.

This is the problem, when the season starts you are not as good as you thought you were
then you realise the manager wants to play tiki taka football, with a south London club based in Thornton Heath. But I am sure we will be fine :(

FdB stays for now, told to change the system

Sakho bid rejected but likely to happen - just disagreements over the addons

Parish making PR moves to fix his reputation in the media. The questioning from fans has reached a high and more are prepared to criticise Dear Leader for not backing FdB and for flopping from one type of manager to another.

I am sure that Mangala is a very competant and able player and will add much to the team. I feel a sense of satisfaction that we have not kowtowed
to some other teams exorbitant fees which has been going on for far to long, but, £120,000 per week

+ Sakho
+ the loanees
+ keeping Wilf/Andros/Benteke
--------- failed to get a keeper and backup striker. Unacceptable, Parish needs to explain why not.
- Mutch still here
- could have done with a RWB in case FdB wants to persist with 3 atb
- De Boer likely to go in the near future, relationship with Parish may be broken especially given he was trying to sign players over his head. Shame but he hasn't helped himself

Difficult window to evaluate!

On the one hand we have brought in 3 undoubtedly top quality players (Sakho, RLC, and Fosu-Mensah, who I notice has just earned his first call up for the Dutch senior national side  ); also we lost none of the rumoured Townsend, Cabaye, or other quality players.

But how have we managed to leave ourselves so threadbare with regards to strikers? That just seems like a disaster waiting to happen. We haven't scored a goal so far this season (in the league) and Benteke needs competition and a backup. Seems crazy.

Not sure about Riedewald. Had a poor debut, but could still come good.

I think I would sum it up as, we now have a fantastic first team (played properly ), but a weak squad at this level.
