Crisp sandwiches: how and with what?

But not proper crisps which are only made from potatoes. Real potatoes, not reconstituted powder.

Anyway shouldn't you be at the Millenium Field?

White bread. Cheep sliced or crusty bloomer, as long as it's soft.
Butter.
Mayo.
SnV, ready salted, cheese and onion in that order of preference.

I might have to have one tomorrow :)

Do walkers still do them ones in black packets? What were they, barbecue or something else? Anyway, they were great in crisp sandwiches. I think I had them in either white or brown, depending on what mum had in at the time. Lovely.

These days, it's only ever wholewheat bread of some sort, because that's all I have in. Any flavour crisp will do, but the stronger the better. I tend to have them 'dry' with no spread of any kind though. But after reading this thread, perhaps I'm doing it wrong :hmm:

I shall investigate a 'moist' version later. (<-- that sounds all kinds of wrong.)

Yup, the black packets of Walkers are BBQ. They're so gorgeous I ended hiding all the ones we had out the huge multi-pack as the kids wanted them.

And my best crisp sandwich is white pappy bread spread with butter and cheese and onion crisps.
