Crisp sandwiches: how and with what?

Do walkers still do them ones in black packets? What were they, barbecue or something else? Anyway, they were great in crisp sandwiches. I think I had them in either white or brown, depending on what mum had in at the time. Lovely.

These days, it's only ever wholewheat bread of some sort, because that's all I have in. Any flavour crisp will do, but the stronger the better. I tend to have them 'dry' with no spread of any kind though. But after reading this thread, perhaps I'm doing it wrong :hmm:

I shall investigate a 'moist' version later. (<-- that sounds all kinds of wrong.)

They do only seem to have BBQ in the mega huge multi packs.

I only ever buy white sliced shitty bread for the purpose of crisp sandwiches :)

White sliced, butter, cheesenonion, mayo.

That is all.
I read that first as cinnamon and was going to ask you in what earthly paradise they sold cinnamon crisps. Because I would move there in a heartbeat. I am sorely disappointed now as I have read it properly. :D

S&V on soft white bread with decent butter is my crisp sandwich of choice. Though a white bread ham sandwich with a layer of Seabrook's Canadian Ham crisps is also a delight. A pal of mine eats pork scratching, cheese and honey barmcakes. No, not for a bet, as a matter of course. The bloody weirdo. And he wonders why he can't get bird.

What the bleedin fuck!!?? *puke*

ETA: Actually, the more I imagine the experience, the more I think it would not be quite as bad as initially thought.

But who would think to eat that in the first place, let alone as matter of course. :hmm:

God only knows. But like you, I can imagine it's probably as bad as it sounds at first!

How did they discover it though. Just trying different combinations of food and hoping for the best?

Do you know, I've never asked him. Which does sound odd, I suppose. But now as I think about it, I bet it comes from my Mum. She was always very hot on us not making any comments on other peoples' food when we were kids. It must have stuck.

Can you call him now?
