Crap, unreliable parcel delivery/courier companies - feel free to vent here

Mail is good here in Brixton but we've started getting loads of parcels for neighbours this last 3 months. Wonder if words got around we are soft touches/local drop off
How many neighbours are we taking about? I will only accept parcels for the six flats in my block, and if I have anything I either get it redirected to me at a later date, or the shop downstairs with his prior agreement.

But if randoms that had never spoken to me suddenly started sending things to my flat so I could take them in on their behalf I wouldn't accept them. Has anybody asked you to do this or have parcels started appearing?
If the later, do not accept them. Not your parcel, not your problem.

Think it's more the delivery guys. The parcels are addressed correctly.

We're getting several a week now but pre Christmas it was maybe once a week.

Currently I have three parcels awaiting pickup

If the situation arose that a neighbour was good enough to take in a parcel dropped off in such a way - as in by the driver, not pre-arranged !
Personally, I would be very grateful and would try to either reciprocate or reward them ...
Maybe you should charge a fee for the convenience ?
However, if you - as the person with the unexpected parcel delivery - are in the least bit suspicious of the contents it might be best to refuse to take the parcel.

The workshop staff will take stuff in for a couple of the neighbouring units, on the basis that we get stuff delivered as well.

I get that, sometimes a delivery driver will ask if I will take something for a neighbour, but I expect my neighbours to collect it within a day or two. You can still refuse to take the parcel if it's getting to the several a week stage, especially if it's the same few people over and over.

Like StoneRoad says, would they do it for you?

Also BusLanes if that neighbour wouldn't take a parcel for me, and a few times I've had a delivery driver claim that people aren't in when I can hear them moving around - I totally understand not wanting to climb another flight of stairs but I'm not paid as a parcel holder or onward delivery person, they are - those I make take the parcel up.

There is one of my neighbours that I probably wouldn't take in a parcel for - she ignores me if I see her on the stairs and she tried to drag me into a dispute she's having with the guy below her. And I absolutely don't expect her to take in a parcel for me.

Ordered an expensive af thermostat for a snake viv off Amazon. Emailed saying it had been delivered and left in a secure spot but not where. Got home to discover this. I live in Chatham ffs

Sigh

Postie came at 10.30 am. All fine. As already noted, sometimes he brings parcels, sometimes he doesn't depending on his mood.

Get a notification at 1.10pm that the post office tried to deliver a parcel at 1.05, except nobody rang the buzzer for access. So I suspect he forgot to bring this one on his earlier round and it may or may not be on automatic redelivery tomorrow. Epic.

Door wasn't latched properly when I went down about thirty minutes ago, so doubtful anyone actually attempted delivery.

To the surprise of nobody, the parcel that the Royal Mail said would be delivered automatically today has not been delivered today. The earliest I can book a redelivery for is Thursday 4th Jan. Fortunately nothing perishable.

I don't understand why some parcels get delivered and some don't, these are small parcels and he brought one without issue this morning, but not the one for automatic redelivery from yesterday. I can only guess that the local delivery office is really struggling.

I saw this article and thought of your situation BusLanes.

I've just had a phone call from my neighbour saying there is a big parcel in front of my garage.

Thanks FedEx for leaving £200 worth of stuff at the roadside without even a text to say it was dumped there!

Son's order has been marked as delivered to shed safe space, one we don't have the shed set as a safe space, because unless they fancy hurdling a hedge and fence its not going to be possible. two that definitely is not our shed and the gps marker shows as the middle of the road in the wrong street.

I am waiting for something to be delivered, about three weeks after I ordered to it. It occurs to me that sometimes it would be easier to travel to the place that sends out the item.

Impressively shit, that courier.

Unsurprisingly, myhermes.
Evri! They rebranded, but changed nothing else and the rebrand hasn't gone well.

I emailed the CEO a year ago because Evri did not allocate a courier when my regular chap went to see his mum in France for three weeks, so all the route's parcels sat at the depot until he came back. I lost patience after waiting a good while and found his email address on LinkedIn, and suddenly parcels started moving.

Email address is upthread if you need it.

Will pass it along to son thanks, forgot whether myhermes was old or the new one lol, do find it weird a company known for being crap would rebrand to a name so close to evil.

Oh, joy. I ordered something from Lakeland, and I've just had an email to say "We've got your parcel". From bloody Evri

Let the shenanigans begin. I've started by making sure the bin outside my door is so full of stuff that it offers no temptation...

Amazon have been driving me nuts over the last day or so. I've bought 6 items from them in three orders for a project I'm working on but thought I'd chosen an option which would have delayed all the deliveries so that they could all be delivered by one courier on one day (today).

4 of the items have been delivered today by 2 couriers who probably had to drive around each other on our single track road (they arrived at my door within a few minutes of each other!)

I've had at least 7 notifications from the Amazon App today (I've lost count) and there have been 19 emails from them so far and there are still 2 items to go!

I think (hope!) the remaining two items are currently within a mile of me (the app says the courier is one stop away) so there should be an end to the App alerts and emails in sight!

DPD are absolutely fucking useless. Failed to deliver a parcel to a block of flats where there is clearly a place to leave parcels, and then their online service where you can "specify a safe space" doesn't actually allow you to do that without changing the date.

I know that people have issues with Royal mail but my main posty is great (I'll admit on days when he isn't working things are much more patchy). He knows me, knows where I want my packages put, has moved other packages to better locations for me and genrally marks anything for the previous occupant as return to sender before it gets to my door. I do try and send in a thank you to royal mail every now and then but no idea howmuch impact they have

Evri and first time I've had an issue.

The delivery was 5 hours late, therefore no one was in.

Despite my instructions to deliver to my safe space in the event of no one being home....they did not do this.

They delivered to a neighbour because I got a message and photo but left no details , so I have no idea where its been left.

I've put a complaint in and they have said they are looking into it.

Sigh. Royal Mail said they 'tried' to deliver a parcel to me yesterday at 17.07. If they did, they tried to deliver it silently as possible, including not ringing the buzzer or knocking on my door.

This morning they put a card through my door and say they will redeliver it automatically today. Well, obviously not by the postman that put the post through the door.

So at 6pm I gave up waiting and rebooked an actual redelivery for Monday.

The worst part?

Evri - FUCKING EVRI - said they would deliver two items and did indeed deliver two items, on time.

Today I am going to try to identify the door in the photo evidence of my parcel being delivered.

Evris response is " We don't know where it is, we are sorry you have had a terrible experience, it's your problem now"
I've had to play detective before, Kalidarkone it's a massive pain in the arse.i once had a photo showing part of a wall and some tiles, took me a while but turned out to be the Chinese takeaway nearby.
