Christian group wants 'evil' Welsh flag changed

I'm not Welsh, so perhaps I can take the sheep shagging insinuation with a pinch of salt, but it does get pretty tedious when you say you're from Wales and immediately get the same, tired old "joke".

Ddraig may not have the most legendary level of patience, but I am not surprised that Welsh people do get pissed off with it.

Funny thing is if we had a thread about how the English fuck dogs the 'it's just a joke' bell ends would be the first ones wailing.

But the city has dragons too...

Bollocks. Why would that bother us? No-one would give a toss.

The sheep-shagger jokes are tired by the way, I agree with that.

Seems like there's quite alot of specieonormative oppression going on in here. Maybe some posters need to check their privilege?

aww oedd y dyn fawr Cymraeg wedio gweud rhywbeth drwg :(
dyna dreni, nawr cer i grafi

i'm still at pre early learning level welsh. is that "did the big welshman say something bad?" ?

regarding the sheep thing, i've been living in wales for 7 years now and my mates back in merseyside even now keep making the sheep jokes as if no-one has ever said it before. i can understand why the joke, such as it is, might be wearing thin.

yes you are correct!

ai because it is usually the unfunny purile types saying it they think it is original and hilarious and of course everyone should find it so unless they've lost their "sense of humour" of course
bit like like sexist jokes at work within the earshot of "bolshie" women

I think you have it wrong. The 'joke' isn't in the least bit funny. It isn't even a joke. It's the inevitable reaction that's funny. The 'joke' would have died out decades ago if people didn't react so vehemently to it. It's the over the top reaction that makes it a self perpetuating 'joke'.

yeah like the reaction sexist dicks get from women upon retelling gender based 'jokes' that aren't the least bit funny
same shit putting down of the 'other' just on a different part of the scale

My experience, though, is that the sort of person who makes a "joke" like that because they think that pissing someone off is funny...well, it's not really the "joke" that's not funny so much as the repeated demonstrations that someone's a cunt.

I don't mind people assuming that, because I live in Wales, I fuck sheep.

I do mind having to waste my time talking (or listening) to cunts.

TBF, I don't get angry about it. I usually just edit people like that out of my reality. It's funny how often they get quite pissed off about that - "what his problem?", etc. - assuming they're not such huge cunts they don't even notice.

"Popti ping" being modern Welsh for microwave oven is the best thing I've read all week. So good I'd like to have a sock puppet / alternative personality called popti ping. I can only hope it's true.
It's true all right, although a slight variant of it is already taken on urban. OTOH moron (welsh for carrot) remains.
