motherfucking score

nice. i'm not a massive marley fan, but i picked up an original pressing of 'catch a fire' with the zippo sleeve (only 20,000 pressed) for 50p today.

last one i could find on ebay went for 70 quid, in similar nick... :D

also, bob again - rasta revolution, a trojan comp of some of his lee perry work, and ras michael - rastafari (featuring robbie shakespeare, peter tosh & tommy mcook, amongst others).

Seriously? I see both of 'em all the time and never bother picking 'em up.

Wish I could be arsed being a record dealer. Think I could do ok, if I could only bring myself to sell the fuckers...

I'm not a record dealer but I see those prices quite often. Record prices often work in a circular process, with people becoming interested in specific titles after being hit with nostalgia for records once owned, lost or disposed of. At which point, ignoring the records that have been scratched, damaged or worn to death through incompetent "5p headshell damage", there often isn't much left - which in turn contributes to an enhanced value.

There is still a huge amount of material not released on cd from the most important genres - and that situation that will not change.

Great if funds are not an issue - less so otherwise.

:(

19th Fleet's 'Star Raid' was sold in recent weeks for over £120.
