It's growing on me! However, it seems that there's a brick chimney underneath with a fireplace/space (you can feel the hollow bit and see the chimney upstairs), which is also tempting.

Well, I guess I'd better move over to the other thread. Exactly seven months since I first posted on this one!
I spent a satisfying few hours at the new place, cleaning (as best as I could without a vacuum or mop!), making lists, and working out how to get the electricity on. So much to do...

If this thread ever gets bumped in months/years to come I think I will have nightmares. As a thread of one persons journey on the trials and tribulations of buying a property for the first time it feels like it should be locked to preserve its story in a week or so (to allow more congrats posts)
