How would you prefer they risked their lives getting here? The refugee sat a few feet away from me clung to the underside of a lorry from Dover for 5 hours before the lorry stopped and his 17 year old body collapsed unconscious. Is that risk ok?

Personally I'd prefer UK and EU laws that don't benefit the traffickers and make travelling as safe as possible for those fleeing war and persecution.

Yes, but whatever method they try involves high level of risk which is indicative of their desperation to seek asylum or refuge in our country. I was interested to hear from you why you took particular exception to one form of risky transit that is pretty much the only option available for those you are infirm, older, children etc.
