Are you prepared? Got your emergency grab bag ready?

I've got plenty of camping bits and bobs in the house, but I can't think of any emergency scenario where I would be advised to leave the security of four walls. Any weather event is going to be much worse outside. No earthquakes here. It's on a high spot, so flooding will be worse out there. What would be the point in making yourself more vulnerable by wandering around?
 
I would have thought with the fanfare that greeted the(alleged)return of blue passports, that would be all one would require!
 
Needed to do? Never. But I've used it each time I've gone fishing in the last couple of years

In which case, I'm not sure to what extent you can define "catching and cleaning a fish" as an emergency. Unless you're *really* expecting actually catching a fish to be the last thing that can possibly happen.
