Your daily cat and kitten news

Kitty is actually settling in really well touch wood. Although she's mostly been in hiding she's emerging to start exploring cautiously, demanding head fuss and meals.

I wasn't joking about needing Feliway myself unfortunately as somehow her arrival has triggered a bout of anxiety. I had a bit of a panic attack last night. Changes in my environment used to be the kind of thing that set me off when my agoraphobia/panic disorder was very bad and I thought I was more robust than that now.

Perhaps I am.. Better at getting through these things anyway.

She is a delight, the only genuine negative is having to be vigilant about doors and windows and it's a minor point really.

Stupid head.

Not looking forward to tomorrow.

liked for kitty picture but not for what's happening tomorrow.

What's happening @stavros? (Sorry if I've missed something.) Hope things aren't too bad.

yes, that.

^ obviously, liked for delight of new cat, not for the anxiety. Hope that she and you both adjust smoothly to the new arrangement. (she's very beautiful!)

and that.

It is a difficult and understandable adjustment to have a new animal in your life and all the associated changes of routine and new things to get used to.

The door/window thing tends to IME become automatic after a while - but I've had indoor animals that pose a potential flight risk (some more literally than others!) for a long time now, but you will get used to it and I think you were planning to let her go outside once she's settled in? I tend to leave reminders for myself, I mean my memory isn't dreadful, but if I'm not in an established routine then messages to myself on post-its stuck on things to remind me is a big help (I mean not for everything ofc, but for stuff that's important, you don't want her wandering out before she's settled in and learned that you are her new home).

Hope everything's OK.
Sorry to have been so ambiguous. I meant I'd looked at the weather forecast for today, and knew it wasn't going to be cat-friendly.

He spent the first portion of the morning outside on the patio asleep, before deciding to move the action indoors and onto the bed.
