Sold fewer records than Cliff Richard. What does that say?Oasis were one of the most successful bands in UK history and their music still sells today and is played on the radio to date.
That says it all tbh.

damn that blue rinse brigade?Sold fewer records than Cliff Richard. What does that say?
Fair point.damn that blue rinse brigade?
see I did a few years occasional work handing out flyers at the likes of S club 7, take that type arena gigs.... I know how that works, and it ain't about the musicFair point.
Sold fewer records then Take That...now what?
I know, I know. I was just highlighting the weakness of clcat's position.see I did a few years occasional work handing out flyers at the likes of S club 7, take that type arena gigs.... I know how that works, and it ain't about the music
I was trying to think of another band as big as them who were working class and could only come up with the Arctic Monkeys. Did a quick Google to check that it wasn't all an act and they were actually loaded, but it seems like they are genuinely working class. Their music is decent, but not a fan of the band. Cunts. Tax-dodging cunts, even.you're right, there no doubt are, but successful ones? they're the most working class successful rock bank i think i've known in that period
Fair point.

Someone had to. Someone was bound to. The Beatles early stuff was dog shit though. I know everyone knows that.understatement of the decade
the only reason they are compared with the beatles is because they ripped them off so much, and magically turned what they took into mor rock -
Listening to some of the tracks from the 'rip-off list" that ska invita posted earlier and the Whatever one stood out. I quite like that tune so went to give it a listen and the YouTube comment delivered yet again:

That'll be why Bowie, who is a lot more successful than Oasis, gets stick constantly for being shit. This Oasis bashing is just typical British cynicism to home grown successful bands.
In America they tend to applaud their successful bands in general.

Wait a minute...
No it doesn't you plankOasis were one of the most successful bands in UK history and their music still sells today and is played on the radio to date.

+1I enjoyed it very much when I was a student and that's the criterion by which I judge it.
It's not Beethoven, but what is?
You're plainly an idiot if you think sales = qualityIs this like pantomime?
Oh, yes it does
Only for bands that are successful while claiming some sort of indie/alternative/innovator status. You won't hear many of us complaining about S Club 7 or Kylie Minogue because there's no pretence, they are what they are. This Oasis bashing is just typical British cynicism to home grown successful bands.

Why did you say this then?Luckily I don't think that

I am not misquoting you. I c and p'ed your exact words!Just objective fact, nothing mentions sales equates to quality in that post.
You are misquoting me.

You must think that sales are significant or you wouldn't keep mentioning them. They clearly have some bearing on your opinion of them.
