A bit like going from st pancras to Ashford on southeastern high speed, at 140mph.On Germany's fastest regional trains. A totally weird service related to the Stuttgart 21 project. Imagine going from Exeter to Yeovil (other local UK comparisons are available) at 140mph with one stop. Trains are half-empty most of the time too.

Stuttgart is a big city (and international hub).Sort of. Ulm isn't London.
Hope you get out soon. I was born near there. officially it is No.1 Croydon; who knew.Doubt that anyone will be able to guess where.
Oh yeah, no worries...we were out of EC like a dose of salts! We've nailed the coach number now to land us right at the foot of the stairs to the "bridge to nowhere" that, despite its nickname, is super convenient to nip out and across to the Home Office and the 154 stop for the bus home.Hope you get out soon. Hats off to whoever waterproofed those display monitors. I don’t recall seeing any without any roof cover above.View attachment 448435
Rainbow on BBC Cymru, from the train station.
The rebuilding of Stuttgart station is an immense project, one of the biggest in Europe. All of the tracks move underground, at right angles to the platforms as they are now, and it becomes a through station instead of a terminus.
This is from few days ago, first trains testing the new tracks somewhere just beyond the hole you photographed:
The rebuilding of Stuggi and Munich Main stations are a bag of Scheiße, but I've got to get off the train in a minute so more another time.Wow, that looks impressive!
I've been to Stuttgart years ago when my sister was living there.
