BTW that’s the driver waiting for a woman carrying a very heavy tripod to get to the train… you wouldn’t get that at London Bridge.

"Stranded" a good hour at Protivín CZ station. Luckily I knew there is a boozer in the station building (departure timetable helpfully displayed in the background) and a half litre of great local beer came in at 1.28 of the funny money with Liz Windsor on it.

No, in London Bridge the driver would be observing you struggle from his cabin, then close the doors just as you finally make it to the platform.

They claim that, but theres a gravel road through the forest which they don't mention. There's often a car or two parked at the café (staff I guess) which kinda ruins the vibe a bit

Regarding my little pic above, I read last week that, appropriately, Pilsen Region is the only Czech Region that makes it a condition on the rail services they tender that bottle openers must be provided on the train. And they are!

The Oxford Bletchley/ MK bit seems to be going ok. The Bedford Cambridge bit is still arguing about route details. I can see that bit getting the chop. Which is a pain in the arse as that is the bit that would be really useful for me.

Further to recent references about available beverages on the transport network (which could become another thread sub-feature to add to the much-loved airport lounges one), I tried Brewdog’s exclusive offering to British Airways passengers. I can take or leave BD’s wares, but I must say this one was rather nice
