Where are you on the transport network?

Hot hot heat in London, as soon as we get up the map a little bit it starts giving grim-up-North vibes. We've travelled through whipping rain, wind that was laying the railside plants almost flat, and glowering skies.
I've neither dressed nor packed for winter. And I did check the weather forecast.
Ah well it's a short trip and I'll be indoors for almost all of it.IMG20230910145555.jpg

Think the HST 125s are on their last days of service between Cardiff and the South West so here is "Taunton Castle" at Taunton. 20230909_140643.jpg

My local journey ended up being on a new fangled ICE from Hitachi, a bit of an overkill but better than the Pacers we used to have! 😆

I‘m in Leeds. It’s actually really warm and muggy here albeit overcast.

I’m about to board a Hitachi train at this fairly distinctive station, approx 14 hrs late due to a delayed inbound flight. Will pass through Taunton in a bit, it’s the first stop in fact.

The 4 of us retired railway managers , who got the VoG line re-opened in 2005
Are you good at being intimidating en masse, alongside having an air of authority? Just wondering if you could go and yell very angrily at a few politicians to stop them entirely screwing up HS2 and the country's opportunity to provide the next generation with some meaningfully useful rail infrastructure.

Our influence . not that it was very much really , is long gone - the VoG was a mere £20 million for 2 new stations and some other works (like the bay at Bridgend) , some signalling and trackwork. The thing is that everyone really wanted to see it happen especially the local authority. Compared to today's horrendous price inflation on almost any project ...........?

Gate A10, the crappiest gate at T5. Had a long haul first class flight go from there once, the very opposite of first class.
