What's in your glass?

Benton Park Swizzle, don'tchaknow:

Benton Park Swizzle

Riffing off of the classic Queen's Park Swizzle, this cocktail substitutes the traditional Angostura bitters with bold Fernet Branca.

2 oz. gold rum
1 oz. simple syrup (1:1)
3/4 oz. fresh lime juice
8-10 fresh mint leaves
1/2 oz. Fernet Branca
Crushed ice
Tools: muddler, mixing tin, swizzle stick or barspoon
Glass: highball
Garnish: mint leaf

Muddle mint, lime juice and simple syrup in the bottom of a mixing tin, then add rum. Pour into a glass and fill 3/4 full with crushed ice. Swizzle, or stir, for 30 seconds. Fill glass with crushed ice and float Fernet Branca on top. Garnish with a fresh mint leaf

That sounds lovely. I wanted a pink gin, but have no lemon rind, so having a dry Martini (shaken) with 2 olives instead. And I might have another.

4 cans of genuinely strong lager for £4.50.

Kir clodo - dry Normandy cider, shot of cheap vodka, blackcurrant cordial.

A glass of JD with Tennessee Honey, very smooth

I really don't "get" the various Jack and Jim formulations with honey and whatever added to them, and as for the multiple "flavoured" Southern Comforts...
If I want bourbon, I'll stick with a trusty bottle of Heaven Hill or Four Roses, both of which are lovely and smooth without honey added to them! ;)

Had a nice nip of Krupnik Polish vodka t'other night, and by Krupnik, I mean that's the brand, not the vodka, herbs and honey concoction!

Pastis, iced water.
Only whilst I'm waiting for tea to cook, then I've got a bottle of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo lined up.

Have just taught a Japanese barman to make a Boulevardier.

Classic Boulevardier is a Negroni with bourbon instead of gin. Got him to make it with Japanese whisky.
