Queen scallops fried in garlicky butter, with peppers/onions in rice

Hob cooking only for me until I get a new cooker. I only have to look at the grill for more glass to fall off it :(
 
Same as yesterday - the rest of the enormous lamb shank, which was cooked with a tin of tomatoes, garlic, onions, aubergines, carrot, celery, cumin, coriander, cinnamon and loads of chilli and was FUCKING LUSH! :D

I couldn't be fucked to do rice, so I just had it with a couple of new potatoes and some brocolli and that was very nice, so probably the same again today. :cool:

A tale of winning and losing at meal times these past two days.

Thursday - having never steamed fish before, my flatemate entrusted me to do something with sea bass, ginger, soy sauce and such. Depsite having a major panic attack regarding timing and the like (and doing enough rice for 4 :)) it turned out pretty darn good.

Last night, however, back on traditional grounds, I thought I could not go wrong with steak and chips. Heh, alas, my flatemate's face when he noticed just how....undercooked everything was suggests I was being a little too complacent with the things i thought I knew about! I had to concede defeat.

Ooooh, i love LMcC pies, not had one for far too long. Must make room in my freezer! What is chilli vinegar? Not heard of that before.

I'm shite at cooking scallops, never seem to get it right. Need to practice more! Bummer bout your cooker. I did summat similar a few years ago (only with my knee and a pizza rather than with a bowl of mac cheese) that glass gets everywhere :mad:

I've taken a piece of salmon out of the freezer and was going to marinade it in soy, ginger and stuff with noodles but i have finally made some pesto, and it fucking rocks!! So i'm now thinking of having salmon with a pesto crust and mash. Maybe. God, decisions decisions. :rolleyes:
 
i don't know :confused:

i really *should* know, as it's saturday and therefore my turn to cook. but i've not got anything out of the freezer to defrost, so it'll be too late to bother doing that. so off to the shops it'll be to find something lovely to cook and eat.

I was in shock!! Just stood there staring, slack-jawed, for a minute before I took in quite how BAD the situation was! :D:mad::mad::D

so you made the pesto eh? nice one :cool:

:mad: I might laugh tomorrow as well. Still in shock at my poor oven's demise :( It's like losing an old friend. Well, maybe not quite THAT dramatic but still...we've shared some good times, created so much pleasure together *wipes tear from eye*
