My first stab at tacos last night turned out lush! Meaty, beany, guacamoley, soured cream youmous-ness - there's also something quite satisfing about eating with your fingers.

Tonight is cheats jerk chicken with rice and peas - which I am also having a go at for the first time. I iz well getting back into cooking stuff from scratch again, rather than sticking something on an oven tray :)

Hooray! Well done that Mogden :) Quitting is brilliant, especially when you've got something cool lined up.

Thanks May. It's just the start of my cakey dream :D Now I'm writing my resignation letter today and am pondering whether to make it plain and then spill my guts in my exit interview or put some of it in the letter :D

Oh, I am so sorry! And I do still love you!

I think it's DC and his takeaways, they are confusing my mind. :(

Did you get anything to eat yet missfran? I'm worried now!

Zorra, I have had a think about my behaviour - can I come out of the corner now please? :D

It's ok, I had some Heinz tomato soup and toast with butter when I got home. :)

Went out for dinner in the end last night. Had a meze at a local Greek place. There was so much food! From memory:

olives, pickled chillies, other pickles
hoummus
tzatziki
tahini
taramasalata
pitta bread
kalamari
scampi
whole red snapper
smoked mackerel
roast chicken thigh
meatballs
wine sausages
some sort of offal sausage
pork souvlaki
lamb leg steaks
rice
greek salad
moussaka
baklava
fruit

And now it's Tuesday I can reveal why :D

I'm quitting my job here. I told my boss today who has been off on their hols for a few days. They were shocked and I had to show them my job offer letter to convince them I was serious as I've been here for 8 and a half years and am one of the 'old timers'. I'm currently working for an internet bank in Derby as a web editor and am going off to be an assistant manager in a milkshake shop :D No cooking facilities there at the moment but I hope to get something organised soon so that I can be Mrs Cake and get paid for it and make Mrs Cake's Baked Shakes.
Nice one :)

I like this one bestest

Again, well done Moggy, and big congrats

Ta missus :D

After 8 and half years here that interview is gonna take all day! Particularly as I'm leaving best mate Mogden here for a few days before she goes on maternity leave and I wanna get some serious issues straightened out.

I put in my resignation letter "I would like to wish the company the success it deserves in the future"

:D

Steak and chips....girly is flying the japanese flag and as such gets these red meat cravings....sweet...

Gonna make some superduper sauce to go with though not sure what, maybe redwine based....yuma yumma:)

Big plates of assorted leftovers and picky bits which is nice.
Might be washed down with half a Guinness
Early night to follow

:)

for me, the remains of the home made pizza from yesterday, and mixed salad

for madge, toasted pitta bread, carrot sticks and a big dollop of hummous. she'll have had a big cooked lunch today so just right  (she wont eat the carrot sticks, she just likes dipping them in her hummous :D )

Im probably having veggie meatballs tomorrow...they are from Asda freezer section and are really quite tasty..

I did cheat and buy them from Sainsburys but I can make my own when I have time.

Have you tried the Quorn ones, they're not bad?
