What's for tea tonight? (#8)

i was fully immersed in the world of salad already.
i was just referring to having dauphinoise potatos, a nice peppery salad and a lump of wine-soaked flesh in my gob at the same time. oh wow!

that was fucking awesome, mainly cos i tried a new way of eating that i saw on masterchef. the way of eating everything at once. so this is what i've been missing all of these years! and it was me who thought everyone else was weird! i wonder what else i have been wrong about!

    :)

A momentous occasion indeed.

We had massive veg soup and toast for tea. Very full. But not too full to turn down most of a packet of dark chocolate ginger biscuits <fat>

Ah I was thinking of you not having salad on your dinner plate and viewing it as a course alone..which I still think is the case here?

How many are those bags of salad supposed to serve ?
I usually eat a whole bag - albeit with a third of a bottle of naughty French dressing.
(I sometimes even don't eat them straight out of the bag)
But yes, undressed salad is brilliant with almost anything - especially potatoes (usually baked in my case).
Salad sprouts are well worth a go as an alternative - both the alfalfa sort, or the mung/lentil sort.
I fully plan to fire up my sprouters this year.

I am courier sitting - so I will get a take-away curry on the way home B)

SAGG PANEER, YEAH BITCH!

tinned? i didn't realise such a thing existed. not sure if i like the idea tbh... what's your verdict?

I have a couple of tins of them. They're not bad - obv not as good as making yourself, but I rather like them. The ones they do in lidl during French week are good.

I've never tried the tinned stuff, but Aldi do a frozen one - straight from the freezer into the oven.
Not as good as homemade but really quite good.

Yeah, I'm not mad keen on the tinned dauph idea either, tbf :hmm: ....I've not made it for a few years but it's LUSH!
The Delia recipe is good, fwiw (I know, I know.... )....I may have to indulge again soon... :hmm:

It's a SNOW DAY here....all three of our schools are shut  woohooooo! :D
And we've got the perfect dinner for a cold day....chicken/creamed corn/potato soup with a load of grated cheddar on top. I slow cooked a ton of red onions and garlic on Sunday for it, too...so will be nice and easy to do...looking forwards to it

More of my daughter's chocolate cookies for pudding (left some of the dough in the fridge so we can have them warm from the oven again).

Last night's Chinese delivery involved crispy chilli beef, sweet and sour chicken, chicken in black bean with green peppers (extra chilli), chilli salt chips, special fried rice, spring roll. My theory/excuse is that if you've got to pay four quid delivery you might as well order enough for three nights. And then eat it all in two obvs.

Our one draws me into buying three days worth (*cough* two days   ) by offering free prawn crackers over £20  (delivery is free over a tenner, mind...that sucks! :( ) :D

I bought so much this time they've given me *two* bags of prawn crackers. :D Twenty five quid it came to including delivery/tip. I don't begrudge them delivery given where I live tbh. They always get lost trying to find me.
